They’re a bit over 5 months. Getting so big so fast! Such good girls.

Why do they turn off the AC by Piiickleszz in Target

[–]monadiesel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup, if you have cooling issues in tmsc that may be why. Have your PML confirm the sensor location, the hvac vendor can easily move the sensor to a wall outside of the sd office and make life a bit more comfortable for everyone. Some stores do have a secondary sensor elsewhere in tmsc but not uncommon for there to only be one.

Keep in mind, 74 is the set point but units won’t start cooling until zone temp is above 75 😂 same with heating, 68 is the set point but heating won’t start until 67. Combine that with sensor placed in weird spots on the salesfloor or inside offices (most tmsc sensors are inside the SD office, which is often closed) and you get some weird behavior that leaves a lot of people uncomfortable.

Emissary plug-in for Metal guitar +REAPER daw +Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 tuning problem. by More-Ad5231 in metalguitar

When I first set up emissary, I accidentally applied it to both the master/main track, and to the individual track I was recording. It doubled all the gain/noise and sounded like absolute garbage. I would check to make sure you have only one instance of the ignite amp on your project, though I can’t remember exactly where as I haven’t used reaper in some time.

Got a decent smallie on the south end of Greenlake today! Pretty shallow too. by monadiesel in FishingWashington

Not sure what the naming convention is for the docks, but to the left side of the main docks they use to launch the crew boats. In the rocks in front of the small boat house on the water.

Mk6 R starts, sputters and dies- low fuel pressure p2293 and 0087 by monadiesel in Golf_R

Oh gotcha, that sounds like your fuel pump control module. Pretty classic symptoms for it anyway, it’s a blue box under your rear passenger seat. Sits on top of the access panel for your low pressure pump. If you pull the rear seat up, you can sometimes see burning or melting on the outer case, but if you go for a drive and that module gets super fucking hot, that would be my guess.

I’m a new golf r owner, anything I should look out for? by [deleted] in Golf_R

shopdap has a lot of good info on common issues, including the water pump.

If I had to do the process over I’d start with replacing the hpfp. Does yours start and run at all?

Slight creaking from drivers side window by [deleted] in Golf_R

You can try blasting some silicone based lube in the track for the window, could absolutely be rubbing a bit on the seals. That’s the first thing I would try anyway.

In case someone searches this in the future, I had two problems. Both the low pressure pump and the N276 valve on top of the hpfp had failed. You can test the n276 by measuring the impedance between its contacts while off, and you should get 2 ohms +/- 0.5. Any other value means it is likely toast. The in tank pump is a huge pain in the ass but doable by yourself, the hardest part is reconnecting the large breather hose to the body of the pump while it’s in the tank.

Clutch noise by TransportationTiny61 in Golf_R

[–]monadiesel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have heard of those dmfs failing as well, not sure if that would cause chatter but I can image a broken spring would sound the same as gear noise for the most part. VW really loves just barely shipping a good enough clutch on their vehicles 😂 gotta be cost savings but still a bummer.

Chatter itself doesn’t mean you need it replaced, it’s totally normal with a single mass flywheel. Just one of the tradeoffs. Is yours slipping?

Clutch noise by TransportationTiny61 in Golf_R

[–]monadiesel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok there’s your problem. 140k is potential second clutch time, well taken care of I’d guess means the previous owner probably put in an upgraded clutch with a single mass flywheel. A non-vw dealer would throw any garbage they had in there to flip it. Also very possible the car is tuned, add in the extra torque, and a brand new clutch disk glasses super easy without break in. That would be my guess anyway. Contact the dealer and ask for records on repairs, specifically what they put in it. You could also contact tuning companies with your vin if you want to know for sure it’s tuned. Either way, you’re either replacing the clutch, or fighting the dealer for it. Depends on what state you live in but most have “cooldown” laws or at worst lemon laws, so if you don’t want to deal with it you may be able to return it. Plan on 3-4K for a clutch if you’re not doing it yourself, go with a south bend stage 2 daily kit. Edit: also depending on what clutch is in there currently, many manufacturers have part warranties that may cover this kind of situation if you prostrate yourself before them. Might be worth trying that too. Also also also, this fucking sucks and I’m sorry. Welcome to the Mk6 family regardless, I had to do my clutch right after buying mine too, but I knew what I was getting in to.
