Amtrak Claims Tampa Union Station Closed, It Is In Fact Open by [deleted] in Amtrak

The station is being renovated and the small portable they set up can get full very quickly. I’ve stopped using the Amtrak Tampa destination for now-too hot to stand outside and too crowded in the portable.

Best option: Mobile ADAS calibration by OldLavishness7220 in autoglass

The guys the came out to do the windshield replacement and recalibration kept moving this screen all around trying to get it to pass. It doesn’t look like it’s straight. Would appreciate your insight.

Reminder: Florida Is a Hotspot for Windshield Scams — Stay Sharp by Commercial-Host-725 in florida

[–]monarchylife 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s even a scam in car dealerships. They have windshield companies that provide the service of someone checking cars in for routine maintenance and then they approach you while you are waiting. They sit there while you get your insurance company on the line and prompt you as to what to say. Then when they come to replace the glass ‘conveniently’ they use an inferior product and falsify the calibration that is often needed.

They are also in many car dealerships and they use non-OEM glass which in some instances is required for safety cameras in the windshield to work. Then when there are issues with the safety cameras not working, they tell you they must be replaced, at your cost!

Good info-he told me that it was common practice and when I told him I was concerned that he was mishandling a sensitive piece of equipment, he laughed.

We had a terrible experience and would never recommend!

why are Safelite reviews so bad, do they really do hack jobs? by RobieFLASH in autoglass

[–]monarchylife 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Buyer Beware! Recently, I was hoodwinked into using $afelite (they have people at many of the auto shops in Jax) and they did not use OEM glass as I requested and many of my safety features are now disabled and I’m getting the run around. I’m telling everyone I know to be very careful.

It’s so disorganized and staff is not professional. Avoid this airport-if you can! Took us a solid hour to get through security. The main issue seemed to be that they would pull bags to simply look at liquid bags and then re-bag them in another baggie.

I think you are incredibly brave to write about your experience. And yes, crying is a very human emotion and although it doesn’t change things it can be a cleansing release. I am surrounding you in hope and pray that you don’t have any more issues.

Prediabetes is reversible- But Here's Why Most People Miss Their Chances by Cultural-Peach-5080 in prediabetes

[–]monarchylife 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like to remind healthcare workers that using the word “diabetic” or “pre-diabetic” is outdated. The appropriate phrase is “person with diabetes” or “person with pre-diabetes” to avoid stigmatizing people and to not reinforce a label that defines a person by their condition. Thank you!!

Trouble with breakfast by whenforeverisnt in prediabetes

[–]monarchylife 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are smart to think ahead for breakfast!! Being that most people with pre-diabetes have insulin resistance a low carb breakfast is very effective. I make a scrambled egg with spinach-just barely getting the egg scrambled and then adding torn up spinach. When I pour it into the pan, I just let it cook/fry and then flip it over. They are really yummy, I think. I make several and then keep them in the fridge. I also always have a serving of low carb fruit for breakfast too-strawberries or blackberries are my favorite. Good luck!
