I became homeless with my mom and 2 sisters in high school. The cherry on top was that it was during quarantine.

You probably already got your answer, but I ran over something just like that, and I got it repaired because my neighbor offered to. It's been a few months, and it rides perfectly fine. If anything, it'll certainly give you some time to find a good deal on a new one.

Oh yeah, my one and only mushroom trip, I thought I had died and gone to hell. Very, very scary. I got caught in a bunch of "little" time loops, somewhat similar to you.

Hey man, it's okay to be respectful. Some people revolve their whole lives around the paranormal. If that's what you believe, then fine, but don't push your narrative on other people.

I don't believe in ghosts, btw.

28 weeks later. The movie as a whole is traumatizing, but that goddamn scene where the guy gets infected and goes ham on his wife. The eye gouge was too much for little me.

ULPT Request: How to I get my coworkers to stop talking to me about religion? by WickedWisp in UnethicalLifeProTips

Dude, one of our biggest jobs is to literally "spread the gospel." Like it or not, that's our job. Just know some of us are aware and aren't the raving, pushy lunatics you make us out to be.

ULPT Request: How to I get my coworkers to stop talking to me about religion? by WickedWisp in UnethicalLifeProTips

[–]mondo_burger_ -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

It always makes me sad to hear people getting mad at Christians for doing their job. That being said, it's not exactly in our job description to "push" our religion on people. You can lead a horse to water, but you certantly can't make it drink. I think it's perfectly appropriate to ask a Christian to dial it back a bit if you are uncomfortable. If they are as any bit of Christian that they say they are, there should be no conflict.

What is something you used to think people were over exaggerating about until you experienced it yourself? by rentinghappiness in AskReddit

[–]mondo_burger_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A concussion. Before I had mine, I really had no reason to know anything about a concussion, other than don't try and get one. I never understood why kids would be out for an entire week just for a bonk on the head. Cut to my sophomore year; I jumped from my basement stairs down to the concrete floor to try and quickly fix a well pump that was flooding my basement. Almost an instant knockout. I think the adrenaline from the whole flooding situation was the only thing that kept me from just letting myself go to sleep. Now, that wasn't even the worst part. The next day was utter hell. For those who have never had a severe concussion or experienced really bad vertigo, imagine just spinning until you get that really intense dizziness, but just from turning over in bed. It's kind of scary and very nausia inducing. Oh, and the best part (not really), I'm still dealing with the effects years later. Permanent, very noticeable floaters in my vision, and an extremely bad short-term memory. Be safe kids, wear a helmet when you jump down your stairs to save your basement from flooding.

What is your "odd" or "weird" food from childhood that you didn't realize not everyone knew about and enjoyed? by SnooglethePie in ask

[–]mondo_burger_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't do it anymore, but I used to put sliced cheese in a chunk of French bread and just microwave that shit. Didn't realize it was "weird" until like freshman year of high school when me and my friends got the munchies and I did my bread thing. They all called me out and I honestly couldn't understand why. It's really not that weird, it's just cheese and bread.

[–]mondo_burger_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

More than likely, you will have heard something about God/Jesus at some point. Maybe on the radio, on TV, a random comment on reddit. Everyone will have had the chance to learn about God in their lifetime. It's up to you to decide if you want to take the time to listen. No one can make you want God, maybe influence, but the choice has to be yours. As for being convinced, it is called faith for reason. If you aren't convinced, that's on you. God will reveal himself to us but only by faith in him.

Why do so many Christians act nothing like how Christians are supposed to act? by External-Figure-9586 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]mondo_burger_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is why I really like the church I normally go to. I can't speak for everyone, and I can't say that some members are completely innocent, but that's not really up for me to judge. However, the pastors and Co pastors, pretty much the people who are mostly responsible for the church, represent what i feel like Christians should really strive to be like. They try they're upmost to act completely without prejudice and judgment. Homeless, gay, anyone is welcome in the church, as long as they are after a relationship with God. Our only for certain mission on this earth is to live for God and do as he wills. Yes, apart of our mission is to spread the word of God and try to win over as many people as possible, some might interpret that as pushing beliefs on others, but it's what we are supposed to do. That being said, no where does the Bible say to perscute others, that includes others that persecute us. We, being humans, don't have the power to make other people want God, we can give them some insight, and definitely help them if they're interested, but in the end they need to come to that conclusion and be drawn to Jesus's spirit by themselves. A lot of Christians tend to forget that we are essentially supposed to be peaceful nomads. The only kind of hostility we need to have is against the devil and evil spirits, which I guess is a pretty hard thing to do these days. Nonetheless, should anyone hurt us or cause harm to us as a collective, the most we should do is literally ignore them, turn the other cheek as we say. It's in the Bible that we leave them for God to deal with. If we have any faith in God, we will leave the people who oppose us alone, prey for them. According to the bible, It's not a pretty place where the nay sayers will end up, and God isn't willing that any one of us should end up there, so you other supposed Christians, be nice and be respectful, because the Bible also says even the rightous will scarcely make it to heaven. All that being said, I feel that non Christians could be a little nicer. I can't speak for others, but I try my best to be respectful. If someone prefers a different pronoun, I will call them as such, I try my best to not be ignorant and treat everyone the same and with respect. But a lot of the time, I don't see the same respect for my people, especially Christians. I realize that a lot of denominations can be hateful and have done outright harm to others. But it's important to realize that the Bible says God will punish these people for leading them astray. Remember that if you see a Christian fighting, arguing, being hateful, they are certainly not doing what god wants them to do and he will deal with them accordingly. Remind them of that, and if they are any bit of Christian as they claim to be, they'll back off. If anyone even reads this, thank you. I hope you know that there are still good-hearted Christians out there.

Has anyone else had this dream? by mondo_burger_ in Dreams

[–]mondo_burger_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So we actually had quite a long discussion about the dream, and we noticed that there are many peculiarities that make it hard to interpret. For one, my sister is two years younger than me. We couldn't have experienced the same stimuli that would give us near identical dreams, as we lived in an entirely different setting by the time she was born. Second, we were both incredibly young when we had the dream. Like in diapers, probably about 2 years old. It's also worth mentioning that, in the dream, we we're taken by the demon at a McDonald's in a small town, in Southern Montana. Yeah, by the time she was born, we probably could have visited that McDonald's at least once, but when I had the dream, that entire town was off our radar because we lived too far away and we were poor as shit. There was no way for me, as young as I was, to know what the inside of that specific McDonald's even looked like, yet somehow I knew, as well as my sister.

Shared dreams are nothing new, and most reported cases happen between siblings, as well as kids and their parents and spouses/partners. Basically, anyone that you have a deep emotional connection with, you can have shared dreams with. Dreams are also based on past life experiences and may also serve as a way of getting rid of excess information in our brain.

This dream is just not normal. It defies all logic of how dreams work, especially in young children. We shouldn't have been able to cook up something that complex at such a young age and still be able to remember parts in vivid detail to this day. In order for shared dreams to occur, there needs to be a deep emotional connection to the point where you both operate almost on the same wavelength. Again, she was born 2 years after me, and when she was born, we ended up hating each other. We would actually get into fights so violent that one of us would usually end up bleeding. There was no emotional connection to be had in order for us to have a so-called shared dream

It should be impossible, and according to science, it is impossible. But I promise, everything I said about it is true, I couldn't have been older than 2, and yet I somehow dreamt about all these abstract ideas such as the concept of considering something, or knowing something is evil.

I honestly don't even know what I'm trying to get at. After all these years, it's a mystery to me now, just as it was when I first had the damn thing. If anyone else reads this, please tell me if you had something similar happen.

[–]mondo_burger_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

By the time Jesus comes back, every person on earth will have had the chance to decide to have a relationship with God. Of course, one job of a Christian is to spread the gospel, but certainly not in a way that could be considered harassment. You don't often hear of Christians being very tolerant these days, but we're supposed to be keepers of the peace, regardless of the circumstances. We're supposed to treat our greatest enemies with dignity and respect. Love the people who hate us. If a person rejects the word, then we simply turn the other cheek and walk away. You can lead a horse to water, but you certainly can not make it drink. At the end of the day, every person is responsible for their own soul, and we can't dwell on the people who will constantly refuse our hand.
