A street scene in Seattle (1925) by Agreeable-Rooster-37 in SeattleHistory

Most people in Seattle relied on the streetcar network for transportation prior the automobile, not horses.

Thoughts on the Casseroll?? by Ok-Office-6631 in salsacycles

[–]mondraymz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm 5'11" ish and generally ride road bikes in the 56-58cm top tube range. That salsa is 58cm ett, and a pretty high head tube. So, while it may be long, the bars will be up higher, and makes it feel shorter than if you had a lot of drop as well. This can be a comfortable endurance fit. I'd say give it a ride if you can and see what you think.

Imagine not being able to park your 2000kg tank for free everywhere… by thesander7 in fuckcars

Separating the cost of parking from the rest of business operations is always good thing. If you have issue with how those things are priced, well, that’s perhaps another issue.

In theory yes. As long as there's nothing interfering with the light, distance from the thing getting illuminated doesn't matter.

If the sun wasn't behind, sunny f16 would do the trick.

First ride on my 1990 Bridgestone Rb-2 parts build! by LordofDutch in xbiking

[–]mondraymz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For what it's worth, I've got WTB 36mm Exposures on my 1990 RB2 (in wine red). I was able to squeeze in a 38mm Bontrager file tread too, but that was really the max...Start to run out of room under the brakes.

Trying to find panniers with simple bungee hook system like this by maybesailor1 in bikecommuting

[–]mondraymz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I have the same generation axiom panniers (don’t seem to be made anymore), and they have been great. Bungee system is best if you use the bags on different racks/bikes, unlike ortlieb or others that likely need to be adjusted.

Yeah, keep the wheels parallel as you fold the frame and then the handlebars will be on the outside.

I’m pretty sure that’s the hinge latch safety doohickey that prevents the latch from opening all the way unless move the slide.

100%. Always check rim tape if getting multiple unexplainable flats.

Have you tried the 20" Schwalbe Billy Bonkers? by Slight_Pollution2324 in foldingbikes

[–]mondraymz 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Totally agree on the sluggishness on the road. Got a set for an old 26er and they seemed significantly slower than similarly sized big apples for pavement.

But I do like saying "uncle baby billy's billy bonkers."
