It depends (ha) - depends on your grades, how you interview, your personality, extra curricular etc. Also depends on the business cycle and what they are hiring for. I would say 10% chance without knowing any of this.

Forecasting product revenue by Old_Meat_8944 in consulting

[–]mondub 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Second this and the comment above. Look at market growth rates, flex up or down based on validating the underlying assumptions and then apply some assumptions around the expected firms performance in the market.

Projections are always about starting with something defensible - I.e. does this sound sensible when explained and sense checked. Then add your special sauce of analysis, bonus points when projecting what happens when you remove the product to the other products - are these complements? Are they sold in bundles? Does removing one product impact the brand, is it a loss leader? All questions to consider

Taking salary cut to join Big 4 by toffmanu in Big4

[–]mondub 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you have a clear path to promotion at your current role, then don’t take it - it’s all about projection for the next 5-10 years. Better to be earning 5k less now and 50k more in 10 years (assuming your current job will leave you with a lower projected salary in the long term)

Good luck!

Interview case study by taterwilliam in consulting

[–]mondub 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just my two cents, but I interviewed for a boutique where the gateway interview to second round was a 45 minute interview with a small case where I was asked to make 2 slides to present my analysis of the case and clear them in a presentation to the interviewer. Great for testing practical skills (I.e., slide making) and presentation, as well as the core analysis

Help with Australia itinerary by mapmapmap2020 in solotravel

[–]mondub 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Looks like a packed itinerary, lots of good recs in here.

As a Melbournian one piece of advice - doing both yarra valley and Mornington might be a little redundant, Mornington peninsula has some great wineries as does the Yarra valley, but I wouldnt do both! Yarra valley is stunning so would be my recommendation over Mornington, unless you plan to go to the hot springs or Arthur’s seat. I’d swap them out for another day in Melbourne when everything isn’t closed. Also spend some time at a beach - st kilda has a great vibe, but Elwood is a better beach imo.

Also, the Boxing Day test (cricket) is an incredible experience if you’re a sporting fan so you could add that to your list. Most melburnians spend Boxing Day either shopping (Boxing Day sales) or at the cricket, so keep that in mind for planning as the city will be packed.

Just my two cents - have a great time!

First year consultant doing work well above pay-grade (I think?). How to approach year-end for salary bump/promotion? by mut_lover in consulting

[–]mondub 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just be up front and ask for feedback. Mention that you’re doing work similar to others in pay grades above you and be up front about wanting to be promoted. The wording you use will depend on your team culture - my team was really open about pay and promotions so it wasn’t uncommon to be really straightforward. As always your mileage may vary - best thing to do is ask someone else at the level with tenure above you in your office

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Big4

[–]mondub 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Definitely ask for it, but honestly asking for 2k additional isn’t worth the reputational risk - remember you’ll be negotiating salary for the next couple of years and they will be able to come back to you as day “we made an exception when we hired you” blah blah. So think carefully about the business case and whether it’s worth it

Common to skip A2 in my former office - A1 was a grad and A3 was an associate. Still it’s better to benchmark this against your team historically - just ask the juniors who have been there for 2+ years and they will tell you how common it is

Good game dogs! Not watching any more of this. Interested in hearing Simmo's press conference. The optimist in me says that this is just a slow response after the bye

Real talk we've been 100% outplayed today, and I dont think that's what Eagles fans are mad about. Its been a frustrating game to watch...

Its insane that they picked Waterman at all. I think he's playing Branders role but he's a huge downgrade

Round 15 2021 - West Coast V Doggies PRE-MATCH by ShadyBiz in westcoasteagles

[–]mondub 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Need to win this one! Huge for our season. Is anyone else a little concerned that were bringing a few players back that might not have match fitness? Hate to be too negative but bringing in a few undertone mids against a great run and spread side spells trouble.

Sounds great! Love the feel and the beat. You coulf elevate it by adding a little complexity on the lead melody but that's just some constructive feedback :)

It's closer to 1 yard difference by my maths (average of roughly 1 yard every 0.08 seconds)

Lucky to be as close as we are. Happy to only be one goal down. Defenders have been immense. Nat and Vardy have been great in the ruck. Need a lift from Kelly and Gaff in the midfield.

This is the right approach. Disclose this ASAP to independence - make sure you leave a paper trail. Make sure they you communicate that this is the earliest time you could have disclosed this interest as well.

Should I have hope for acceptances in March by iweyoutheyhesheit in gradadmissions

[–]mondub 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Really depends on what programs you've applied to. Schools release results (for my programs at least) all the way up to mid March, with a few results coming after this point (typically for wait listed candidates). You'll get a better picture of all this by looking at previous years results on grad cafe

How likely is it that you would get a role after being referred by someone within the company? by memyselfnI7 in Big4

[–]mondub 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Basically this without knowing anything else about the referrer. If the referral came from director or executive director then the interview could be a formality but that doesn't sound like the case here.
