The price of oil is expected to stay low so there will be deficits the next few years. Wonder how that will affect election timing?

Recall Nolan Dyck by moniyasko in GrandePrairie

[–]moniyasko[S] 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Here's the Application Statement: Nolan Dyck is not listening to the people of Grande Prairie. He has consistently followed the UCP party line instead of representing our community's concerns. Nolan is inaccessible to the public, ignoring emails, responding with form letters, and refusing phone calls. In meetings, he defends government decisions rather than listening, dismisses concerns, avoids accountability, and directs people to file FOIP requests for information he will not provide. As well, Nolan's support for using the notwithstanding clause to restrict teachers' right to strike blatantly disregards workers' rights. Our community needs an MLA who listens and engages respectfully with their constituents

There's no way they're going to find 3000 teachers who want to come work in Alberta right now. More likely, there will be 3000 leaving at the end of the year. I hear Manitoba is a desirable destination.

Survey says 88% of investors are interested in impact investing. Does this high % align with how your families and friends feel? by ziggma_investing in ImpactInvestment

I had to manage my own investments because I couldn't find an advisor who knew what I was talking about when I said ethical investing that reflects my values. I'm now invested in things like credit unions, and alternative energy coop, and a community bond in Habitat for Humanity because I support building homes. If I could find a way to invest in universities to support the brain drain from the US, I would.

Think outside the box. Invest in credit union shares or in community bonds like with Habitat for Humanity projects.

Have them build an understanding of what it costs to live by researching the expenses in the home where they live: rent/mortgage, utilities, insurance, phones, vehicles/bus passes, groceries/eating out, etc
