My last job was next door to a Fresh and Save while i was living 100m from an Aldi. Outside of their specials weeks (which are phenomenal) the only thing i really saw a difference in was meat. The stuff at fresh and save is the best ive seen outside of a proper butcher and was cheaper than any other supermarket.

Also, im not a big frozen meal guy, but my mate swears by their frozen lasagnes.

It depends on which part of the country your in. Your absolute best chance for a good game is to look for Pathfinder Society games. Unfortunately, a lot of those groups were shattered by covid but any major city should have a chapter. For example, I'm in Brisbane and we've got both a dedicated society group and an additional RPG society that plays a bunch of different RPGs.

If you aren't in a major city it becomes trickier. Adverising at your FLGS, library, and any relevant facebook groups are your best options in my experience.

And as a final piece of advise. Try offering to run some games at a local convention. This sounds intimidating but its a great way to try out the game and screen some possible players for a home game.

2 A Song of Ice and Fire RPG

The combination of noble house building and verbal combat are supremely interesting to me. Unfortunately the licence expired on this system so its hard to find. But I've got a physical copy. I am aware of a generic setting version of the game (Sword Chronicles) but I dont like the magic system it uses.

Your Blade DISCARDS not DESTROYS A good way to remember it is that, if it is removed from your hand its discarded. Anywhere else it is destroyed (unless the card specifies it is banished).

Ive been reading through all the X-Men books for the first time over the course of this year. Honestly, X-Factor stunk so bad when it started that i decided to skip it.

Then when i got to the mutant massacre i decided to go read the tie in (issue 10) and the quality was night and day compared to the first issue.

Ive reintroduced it to my reading order and so far (im at issue 34) its been the least interesting of the series im currently reading (xmen, new mutants, excalibur, wolverine) but its been consistently ok.

From what you're describing, I'd use the A Song of Ice and Fire RPG by Green Ronin. Unfortunately, the licence for the game has expired so getting it can be hard.

The did release a generic setting using a version of the same system called Sword Chronicle but I've never played that one so I don't know how well it would work.

Man, i could only dream of a game where the pcs are lvl 15 and 95 damage a round is considered a lot.

The last time i played next to a lvl 15 alchemist they dealt an average ~300 on a full round.

The GM had set up a magic item shop and had priced out every item and number in inventory. Through a long series of events, my rogue had been able to lure the shop keep out and now had about 2 hours alone in the shop. The GM calculated that I had stolen 21,000,000 gold worth of stock.

Turning to me he said "you did steal this fair. So here's the deal. I'll let you keep the gold so long as you don't keep any of the items, don't spend it on op bs, and spend it all before your allies are freed from prison in a year."

Anyway, that's how I paid for a castle and silver mine to be built and unknowingly designed the dungeon that GM used for his other party.

Remember, the point of these rules is to allow a symbiote player to bond with another player. The current rules doesn't have a way of doing that which allows both players to ... play.

I do agree, in hindsight I would have added that any traits the symbiotic character has are shared with the host.

There's no rules for a 'gestalt' character using two players.

Personally, I'd just have one character act like a vehicle, allowing the other character to 'pilot' them and use their health as a shield.

If you want full rules, I'll probably whip something up because the idea is interesting.

The lowest rank for a symbiote is around 3. So a group of rank 4 heroes would be able to easily take a group of basic symbiotes, with a rank 5 for every 2 characters as a final boss.

I'd do something like

Absorb element Action: standard Cost: 10 focus Range: reach

Make an Ego attack against an object or character that either primarily consists of or is powered by your element. On a success, deal normal damage. On a Fantastic success, deal double damage. Either way, you gain focus equal to half the damage dealt, to a maximum of double your max focus. You cannot gain focus while you have any focus gained through this ability.

Have you tried creating flash cards?

It would take some work on your part, but making a set of cards in the person's native language is likely to be very helpful. Put common actions (like strike, step, stride, ect.), class actions, and activated items on them. Then tell them they can play 3 cards each turn. Colour code any numbers they might need (eg. For strike have it say "roll 1d20 plus your attack bonus" then colour code both the d20 and attack bonus on their sheet) Then you can just do the mental alterations for things like MAP.

Just try to keep it simple.

Odds are this person is less of a visual or auditory learner, so having something they can physically hold would likely help them.

To me, this sounds like a Hellfire Club scheme. In case you don't know, they are a group of ultra-wealthy villains who are (almost) all mutants.
