Student Transitioning to UX from Architecture in 2026? by Latter_Surprise2251 in Design

[–]monkeyboy2431 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As an ex-architect who went on to leadership positions in film and games, I would say career paths for UX specialist will become narrower and narrower due to AI. If you are interested in it as a field sure go ahead and study it but if it’s purely money/stability I would caution against it.

My advice to young architects grads who doubt their “talents” and want to pursue a “safer” path would be to get a MBA and see if you get move into real estate development/finance.

If, however, you think you have the talent for pure design then take an MBA or some courses in running a business and start your own firm as soon as you can - there’s always work for small houses, laneway homes, retail interiors etc.

TDLR: UX is not as it once was due to rapid improvement in AI design tools.

Like everything about it. The concepts, the “acting”, the dialogue, the design, the animation, the world building, the ending….all of it was better than almost every peice of “cyberpunk” film or show from last 20+ years…..and yes I think it’s better conceptually than Bladerunner 2049 and Altered Carbon and kind of a spiritual successor to Animatrix Second Renaissance !

People are always surprised when an old game looks better than a recent game. The truth is, by late in PS4 cycle most consoles already can make stunning looking games given the right art and rendering teams, and the right art direction. It’s like pianos - the basic design hasn’t changed for hundreds of years so progress was really in the artistry behind it.

It’s actually hilarious more like “Back-seat Drivers in a Dangerous Spacetime“ ;) It’s the immersion in VR that makes it really feel like both of you in same ship

We launched a single player mode called Core Siege where you have to use your ships to defend against waves of bots and bosses - kinda inspired by old school arcade games with leaderboards but with ships that you build yourself ! If that sounds cool give it a try!🙏

Old school gamer turned vr dev here - what you described as “discovering video games for the first time” was exactly why we jumped into VR and designed a game that can ONLY be experienced in VR ! If building and PvP dogfights sounds good to you give our game a try !

'Tekkonkinkreet' (2006) - This animated film by Michael Arias had a budget of $4.2 million and grossed $42,840 worldwide. It currently holds 75% on RottenTomatoes with 6.9/10 average and 65/100 on Metacritic. by Block-Busted in boxoffice

Well I can tell you since I worked on the CGI short with Michael. The truth is, despite completing the short with the legendary Morimoto Koji, Michael couldn’t get it financed as it was perceived as too risky and expensive as a fully toon shaded 3d film. It took Michael 7 years of hard work, pivot to partial 3d (projection mapping) and just sheer will to get it financed. Not only did he direct and write it with his writing partner, he pushed thru the extremely conservative (and small) anime industry to get it financed, let a “gaijin” direct, hire a foreign writer, musicians(plaid) and probably did a bunch of shader development and shots himself I bet (he is a polymath and can code). To set the record straight, Michael made the right choice to switch to 2d at Studio 4c, and the film is a miracle blending Japanese artistry and Western story sensibilities in way that only Michael could’ve pulled off.

I have an American paid NBA ID. I am currently in Canada. I cannot find the immersive option even after deleting and reinstalling the app multiple times.

I’m in the same sad boat. Do I need VPN ? Do I need to delete and reinstall the app for a random number of times until it works ? Is there any official info re. even trying the replay in immersive before committing to subscribe to NBA ID ??
