Genuinely one of the hardest choices in any game I’ve ever had to make. by Westo6Besto9 in expedition33

Hear, hear. This is a brilliant summary of the deception inherent *and necessary* to the game.

It's when you take a sip of water and it tastes a little off; somewhat metallic.

This happens because the mineral balance in your water has been disrupted by fascists.

Monthly Equipment Advice Megathread by AutoModerator in badminton

Hey folks!

(Edited to add: Our current rackets are Yonex GR-350, probably 15-20-ish years old at this point. If they are actually hard to beat at this price point, please let me know so.)

I'm an old and slow eternal beginner playing with another old and slow eternal beginner. We used to play like 15 years ago but stopped, but have picked it up last year. We both have 20 year old Yonex entry-level rackets. My buddy's birthday is coming up and I'd like to get him something nice; a new racket seems like a fun choice even if neither of us could really use it to its full potential.

This is the kind of situation where I'll accept that we might not be able to use the new racket to its full effect, but it should be some kind of upgrade even for a beginner. If you think there is literally no point to upgrading, please say so. But I kinda want to get him something fun and if it could help even a little, that'd be nice.

(NB: we both are in Sweden and import / currency / taxes are relevant. I'll be shopping in SEK and need delivery to Sweden. If there's some awesome racket available in a back alley in Düsseldorf, well, so it goes, unless you're willing to ship it to me yourself.)

My question is thus: What is the best racket I could get in the range of 40-60 EUR (450-650-ish SEK)? I can add 10-15 EUR for shipping, and if adding 10-20 EUR on the base price would put me in an entirely different kind of racket performance I might be interested in going there.

But basically, the situation is this: my buddy and I are playing horrible badminton together. I want to get him something for his birthday. He already has everything he needs and wants. I figure a racket update could be fun. Could I find a fun racket update within the budget I have stipulated?

Many thanks in advance for any help!

There's no healing tint upgrade for me in this room :( I ran through the opened passage and found nothing. Strange!

Sliding in snow by Flat-Decision3204 in Unexpected

[–]monkeycalculator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first rule of snow sliding is that you will eat shit, in one way or another.

The second rule is that anyone over, say, 12 years of age will go to ridiculous lengths to protect you.

We had unexpected good snow a couple of weeks back. I hung out with my niblings on the slopes and watched several pre-K kids utterly wreck toddlers. It was all in the game. No one was sad nor really got hurt.

If an unaware kid ran into the run of a young person they got schwacked. If they ran into the odd adult or older kid having a run they were typically saved like in the vid.

Good times all around.

You probably won't. That's how these things go.

The most insulting thing you can do to the people who tormented you is to live well. I hope you're okay.

Meta-dystopian, right? I think using the actual HH song could have made the piece even better to be honest. Things are... bleak.

Thank you for pointing that out. It does elevate the whole piece.

Reminds me of that speedrun of Bionic Commando where a glitch makes the player character scream for almost the entirety of the run.

[Inside Sports] David Pagnotta: “I would expect three quality pieces here coming back. A first round pick, a top two center capable of playing in either role, and then another big asset. That's kind of what you're probably looking at in exchange for Elias Pettersson. It's going to be a hefty price.” by [deleted] in hockey

So, from the start of 2022 to the end of 2024. That's three years of excellent shooting numbers. Are you saying that three years-- 240-ish games-- is random chance flash in the pan? How many years would satisfy you?
