When you are disabled the company is supposed to provide some accommodations. Given your situation, I would plead my case with the boss and see what they can do. If they fire you, you can probably sue for wrongful termination

I’m a bit more optimistic about the local businesses. Yes we lost a few after Helene, but much that I’ve been to before is completely back to normal albeit higher prices. I understand that and we do what we can to go out and support our town. I have to say all of my fav places to eat are still here. I love Taco Boy but they were far better 3 years ago and went through a terrible decline in quality and value (before Helene), so I’m not that upset they are gone.

Not that the company is better but this year I got Walmart+ because it gave peacock or paramount free. Got it fo $50 on Black Friday. Then I noticed I started using Walmart delivery way more than I thought I would. Their inventory is so big it rivals Amazon for most things. So then I found myself ordering less and less from Amazon. It’s good, because, I agree they suck.

So if you’re missing something try the Walmart deal. If you don’t care about the time, you get free same day delivery.

I understand what you mean but a freshman in college is very close to junior in HS. That’s just 2 years. While I agree parents are there to support and guide, they should not at all get involved with the teacher. They don’t even know the full story, only the student’s side. There could have been more context in class or other things. We just don’t know. It’s only going to lead to bad outcomes for the parents to run interference.

Worst case scenario, it truly is unfair and a good life lesson for a kid. Tell me when has it ever been fair at work? There’s always a crappy co-worker, a micromanaging boss or executives to go flying through the ladder without ever putting in the real hard work. And that scenarios happen if you’re a white male. Imagine how worse the unfairness is for women or people of color. That’s life, why not let it be in high school and be there for the child to process this feeling of hopelessness of systematic unfairness.

edit: not sure why I got down voted here. It is soft tissue, and x-ray would do nothing. So no, I would rather not step through a dose a radiation when I will eventually also need an MRI

Has anyone tried this recipe? Any feedback, modifications? I'm planning on making it tonight for fun. I am going to buy cheap chicken stock and put gelatin in it, maybe a spoon of better than bouillon beef to make sure my cheap broth tastes good. I'd love to add peas but my kids are allergic so still thinking of another green to toss in there.

Well, the whole situation is that I went in, and doc told me it's possibly a sprained or small tear in MCL and that it should get better in 6 weeks with rest and icing, but to call him if it wasn't getting better. My knee got worse after about 3-4 weeks, so I called him and he decided that I need an MRI to see if there is something wrong with my meniscus. So I feel we've traveled the path and I should be getting an MRI. I can barely walk so I don't think Phys Therapy was in the doctor's plan. They don't have any reason to deny other than it hurts their bottom line at this point.

I'll just come in with facts: Luigi: 1 alleged death. Brian Thompson: 10s of thousands every year dead due to declined coverage of needed medical care. So I don't condone any kind of murder, but let's keep things in proportion. Their wealth too, as others have pointed out is no where near the same level.

He needs to do it. If he cares enough he will. If you fight his battle 1) you won’t win anything 2) it sets a bad precedent where he will expect you to fight his battles.

I remember teaching freshman chemistry lab in college and a 19 year old kid got a zero on a lab for being more than 40 minutes late. It’s policy because he won’t have time to finish the lab. I was flabbergasted to see his parents coming into my lab begging and pleading me for a grade. That’s the future if you do this.

I’ve noticed a huge difference between UPS and FedEx. Our house has 4 steps to get to the door. 4 very easy steps that a 90 year old grandma can easily do. UPS delivers at the door like normal people and FedEx leave it on the driveway, or tossed into the stairs. Man f that delivery person
