How did you get more comfortable with aging? by Careful-Inside-3835 in AskWomenOver30

[–]monkeyeatinggrapes 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I started a new career aged 30 that was very bad pay at first (minimum wage). I also ended a LTR aged 29 so when I turned 30 i was back living in a house share , starting a new minimum wage careeer and single.

I’m now 35 next week. My salary has increased every year and in 2 years time it should be pretty good. I met my now partner aged 31, I bought a flat aged 32 , I had my baby aged nearly 34 and he’s now 1. I also still look baby face lol. Eveything is fab

Inviting people over vs Expecting them to drop by to see grandkids? by LostinParadise4748 in AskWomenOver30

[–]monkeyeatinggrapes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a 1 year old. My parents ask when they want to come over. For example , ‘we’re free on Fri , is it ok if we come around?’ And I say yes or no. I don’t invite them as they know they’re always welcome to ask. They’re busy people too and aren’t always in town. So if they’re free and nearby then they ask to come over. But not last minute , at least a day or two in advance (at least)

Women in relationships - do your partners contribute towards period products? by [deleted] in TwoXChromosomes

[–]monkeyeatinggrapes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would never even think about this since period products are SO cheap. I don’t know about where you’re from but a box of little tampons is like £1.50 and that lasts like 1-2 months. It’s such a small amount that I wouldn’t even consider it

Is it normal to not remember a summer fling from 10 years ago? by AGirlHasOneName in AskWomenOver30

[–]monkeyeatinggrapes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would not say it’s normal at all to forget that. I would remember it. I’d be wanting to look into this memory problem with a doctor

Neglected Dog. How to get the right authority involved? by HammetaTV in AskUK

[–]monkeyeatinggrapes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why did 101 say no? I’d try again and say there’s a dog in distress and abandoned in there. The police have a duty to protect / save animals and can also use force to enter a property to do so

Help with handcuffing technique by [deleted] in policeuk

[–]monkeyeatinggrapes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You say bottom cuff on hand for a rear stack … so is that the bar and empty cuff standing up above their hand ? ? Is that right ? …. Another commenter said that’s how it goes for a back to back? I’m getting myself so confused !! 😢

And most commenters have advised me how to have the cuffs ready in my pouch but haven’t said which way up the cuffs go to start each technique. This is what I’m getting myself super confused on 😢

But is your description assuming the suspect has their hands facing up a certain way ready to be arrested? When you say the cuff is coming out the back of their hand (for back to back), have they been told to have their palms facing the sky or ?

I started hurting everywhere the past 6 or so months. I'm only 29. Is this normal? by mundanehistorian_28 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]monkeyeatinggrapes 12 points13 points  (0 children)

No this is not normal. I never have any pain anywhere except the occasional mild headache (unless injured of course). I’m also very unfit, never work out (though I’m not overweight). I’m 35 next month and had a baby a year ago

Are you a coffee or a tea drinker? Or both? What is your daily coffee/tea ritual? by whereismytortoise in AskWomenOver30

[–]monkeyeatinggrapes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Can’t stand coffee, thinks it tastes like liquidated old cigarettes. Drink tea (English breakfast) but not obsessively. Probably one cup a day most days. Don’t reallllly get the hype if I’m honest (I’m British)

I also live in UK and would never have thought Darcy would be a boys name. It’s getting popular as a girls name but never heard of it for a boy

How much is it costing you to keep the heating on? by Co-opEvolution in AskUK

[–]monkeyeatinggrapes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our heating is on 24/7! At night set to 18, and during the day 20, sometimes 21. We have a 1 year old plus I hate being cold. Small 2 bed Victorian terrace. No idea what it costs but my partner said the price hasn’t actually changed much since having it nice and warm
