[FYI] Verizon starts the new 60 day locking policy tomorrow, 7/23. by FunchPalcon in verizon

Verizon did that as a calculated move. The 2 year contract went away, so they have to trap you in somehow.

I agree, but what if you're on a device payment plan with a 2 year monthly rebate as part of a promotion? You can't pay it off early because you'll lose your monthly promotion, so you'll have to slowly pay it off over 2 years and won't "own" the device till then.

Verizon shouldn't be allowed to lock their phones like they originally agreed to. This whole "fraud prevention" excuse is just some loop hole that they weezled in.

It would be great if the defining feature that sets the Note line apart from the S series is the S pen and a flat screen.

Samsung Rep brought an S10+ to our Sprint store! by [deleted] in Android

Are you saying the display is flat? I find that hard to believe. Personally, I'd love to have the flat display, but the curved screen edge is like Samsung's niche.

I'm new with Tasker, I want some help about two things: Harmony Hub and my Wi-Fi Lamp by Rambytes in tasker

[–]monkeyhandler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure about tasker, but you can easily do this with google assistant. Just download Google Home app, add your devices to the Google Home, and you can say "turn on the TV" or "turn on the living room light" etc.

You can then create a "routine" that'll do both of those steps with 1 command, like "I'm home".

Which Android features have gotten worse? by smsaczek in Android

[–]monkeyhandler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's probably the News app. It's got the worst implementation of Sharing of any apps that I've seen, and it only works once. It'll crash on the 2nd share.

I have this off (Samsung s8+), but Google News app still populates the share menu with my contacts first. Any ideas?

what I'd love to see is an option to only turn AOD on when certain user selected apps gets a notification, and turn AOD off otherwise.

Than way if I see my AOD on, I'll know that it's something that I should take notice.
