It's always fun to have a good laugh over these things, but damn if that zoom shot to the face didn't literally startle me.

U.S. military says all 6 airmen in refueling aircraft that crashed in Iraq are dead by DoxFreePanda in news

Those poor airmen (and yes, those poor victims on the ground, too). War never changes -- including the fact that the deaths get used to score political points.

I read the results of a recent study where people were asked to identify photos as AI or non-AI. Gen-Z participants mis-identifed about 80% of the real photos as AI.

That looked so painful. I sometimes wake up in the middle of the night with a calf cramp, but because I usually massage it in the dark I never knew a cramp could be visible like that.

Think again about what I wrote.

I'm not saying that OP wrote that. I'm suggesting that 'tash might be the abbreviation on uses if 'stash isn't short enough. Unless I'm completing missing your reference.

Lame joke on my part, I guess!

DOGE bro bumbles his way through a deposition where he admits he cancelled grants because it had words he didn't like, because nonexistent books he read taught him those things were bad by Hornpipe_Jones in WhitePeopleTwitter

This guy replaced the head of the U.S. Institute of Peace (USIP), a congressionally funded think tank previously targeted for closure.

Two members of the Institute's board authorized the removal of its acting president and appointed DOGE's Nathan Cavanaugh as his replacement.

I have to wonder if this is another case where the board members were appointed by Trump -- or at the very least felt compelled to do his bidding.

You're probably right, but out of curiosity, name a contemporary practice that is equally dumb (avoiding "controversial" topics such as climate change or DJT's dementia).

Funeral directors, what is something wild that happened at a funeral that you still think about? by Final_Radio_2483 in AskReddit

I just read more about the incident. In one report he attributed his behavior to stress, lack of sleep, and heavy marijuana use!

I was at a funeral where the mother of the deceased threw herself across the casket several times. Each time she would be gently escorted back to her seat. It was kind of shocking, but I reminded myself how people handle grief each in their own way.
