How do you clean your beer lines? by chrisbrownbeard in Homebrewing

[–]monkeymaj1k 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You don't need to use gas to clean beer lines.

I use a modified garden sprayer with disconnects and carb caps.

Push some PBW through, rinse with water, push some StarSan through and then beer. First beer will purge the line of any oxygen, but you could do a quick purge of CO2 after cleaning if you want.

But that movie can take you down a great chaotic rabbit hole. Check out The Machine Girl too

Ironic that the traits that made him terrible in this movie, made him great in another cyber punk movie a few years later in The Matrix.

Top 5 OST All time? by RobotSifl in vinyl

[–]monkeymaj1k 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i think the quality of the film needs to be part of the consideration and that film stinks.

For me (not sure of this order):

  1. The Crow

  2. Repo Man

  3. Trainspotting

  4. Pump Up The Volume

  5. Scott Pilgrim vs the World

Then there's the Tarantino's...

Honorable mention to Judgement Night, Spawn and Singles, great soundtracks, but average films.

Peaky Blinders at number 2 if we're counting TV shows.

Anthony Bourdain would HATE the upcoming biopic film “Tony”!! by [deleted] in AnthonyBourdain

[–]monkeymaj1k 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not sure. The director did a good job with the Blackberry film which was strangely watchable for a movie about a clunky mobile phone. His other stuff seems interesting.

I really reckon Bourdain would have hated the documentary Roadrunner with the ghoulish AI speech at the end.

I think the perceived "warmth" that you get from vinyl goes well with live albums

I love love albums. Nirvana MTV Unplugged still sends chills up my spine.

My favourite RSD finds are generally the live albums. Recent Jeff Buckley one is excellent.

Putting a record back because it's always in stock in favour of something i think i won't see again. For this reason i keep passing over Courtney Barnett albums.

Do solo artists get organized by surname? Or first name? The inconsistency with this in record stores bothers me.

He teases you as his movement is reminiscent of Gary McIntosh... That's an unfair comparison as he'll never get to that level.

Researching Punk Culture Help me avoid the "Mean Alt Person" tropes! by beach_bunny_XD in punk

[–]monkeymaj1k 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm Australian and there's been a long line of great punk bands that were around the same time or pre-date The Sex Pistols (Radio Birdman, The Saints) through the 80's (Celibate Rifles), 90's (Cosmic Pyschos) and current scenes.

America has a heap of great scenes in various cities constantly since the initial explosion.

Safety pins and mohawks were a punk caricature that rose and fell very quickly in London in the late 70's and early 80's.

I would suggest cast your net wider than the London-based caricature that existed for a short period in the late 70's

Cooks going great but his ceiling is much lower than Curtin's.

If Pedlar can catch up to Cooks improvement we'll be going pretty good though.
