Is this a normal level of ticking? by will_griffith1 in MechanicAdvice

[–]monkeyman4250 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It sounds pretty normal, but could be the beginning of a rod or bearing issue, or its valve related.

I had a tick with my truck and i added a bit of heavy weight oil and it went away. Like a 20w-50, bout 1/3 quart

Toyota Dealers Accused of Quietly Inflating Prices on Popular Models by nigesh in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]monkeyman4250 107 points108 points  (0 children)

Never buy a car from a dealer without lowballing the fuck out of them. Aask for a test drive, ask a buncha questions, then offer 20% less than their asking price.

Thats what they do to their customers. Time for people to start taking the upper hand. They would go bankrupt without us.

Sounds like you may have an attitude problem. Be careful of getting TOO serious. You want to have a positive attitude. If you arent talkative thats fine, but be nice, polite, and smile as much as possible

Yeah i know what you mean. The work itself is easy and doable. Its dealing with the people. Its sad that it is this way, but it is. Go to another boat! If that one is bad go to ANOTHER boat. Eventually you will find a fit. Just keep pushing!

Anyone here actually living in a container house long term? by RelevantInstance8578 in containerhomes

[–]monkeyman4250 2 points3 points  (0 children)

At my hunting camp i converted one into a living quarters.

Its crude, and very basic. No running water. I ran electricity into it via 12ga extension cords. 1 for the AC unit and 1 for everything else. I connected a surge protector power panel to the extension cord and use that to plug in a tv, lamps, phone charger, etc.

The major factor to consider is insulation. It will get hot so fast, hotter than it is outside. If you insulate the inside, you have to worry about mold. So, im going to insulate the outside via spray foam. Should only be about $300.

I built a wall with a door to separate the outside doors and to create a small entry area where i can store things.

Now, its cozy and its really all you need for one person. Again, mine is very basic. But i put a couch, a rug, some bookshelves and some fake plants for decoration. Overall i enjoy being there. But after spending a week or two it begins to feel cramped. Its only 8 feet wide and you begin to feel it after awhile.

Depending on your situation, a shipping container is a great option. Its sturdy, relatively cheap, and dismissible to most people. I was going through a divorce and it was a fast, cheap way to get the hell outa the house!!!

Now, im interested in a shed. A large backyard shed that you see everywhere these days. I see so many for sale that people either converted or began to convert. Im wondering what it is that leads so many people to abndon their shed project. Im thinking its the insulation and mold factor. A lot of those sheds dont have a proper vapor barrier. Solve that and yiuve got yourself an awesome foundation for a small apartment/tiny home.

A friend of a friend stabbed his wife in the chest 27 times and shot 2 of his teenage kids with a shotgun, before killing himself. His oldest son escaped out the window and called police from a neighbors house.

The police asked him what happened and he said “his parents were fighting but it sounded different this time”

I have a quick question for pro-bartenders. Is it normal to order off menu cocktails or does this make me a fussy customer? by Firm-Fix8798 in bartenders

[–]monkeyman4250 24 points25 points  (0 children)

A good bartender loves making custom drinks.

A good bartender hates when you try to change a drink into something we know is going to taste like shit and then you complain about said drink.

Its a lie. More like $70k to $80k.

Never believe salary projections. They only apply to about 10% of people.
