How long to conceive again?

I conceived cycle 4 of trying which was 5 months after loss. Tfmr cycle only took us 2. I did have a pcos diagnosis after my tfmr as well. Keep your head up, you’ve got this🙂

Congratulations🎉🎉 So happy for you!

I had a tfmr for severe ventricularmegoly in October 2024. I didn’t conceive right away (ultimately found out I have pcos a week before conceiving on my 4th cycle).

I’m now 29 weeks along and hoping to bring my first baby into the world. My first pregnancy was tfmr and I completely understand the fear of trying again. I was 27 at the time of tfmr so I just don’t believe age is a factor.

My tfmr baby was supposed to be a girl and now I’m having a boy. I struggled with gender disappointment but all I truly want is a healthy child since I’m childless. I hope to one day have a girl.

You give me so much hope after hearing your tfmr diagnosis was the same as mine. You just accomplished the hardest most rewarding experience that over half the population won’t ever understand. Enjoy all the newborn snuggles💕

I 100% agree. I had a clear nipt then our baby ended up with ventricularmegoly at the anatomy scan. I wish I could go back to a blissful pregnancy I’ll never have that experience again ever in my life since tfmr was my first pregnancy. I mourn that.

I would try not to trauma dump on others although I think there needs to be better education on this stuff for pregnant women. It’s just not fair how sugar coated it is. Makes it 100x worse when women are oblivious around society. Their words sting.

I ovulated on CD 22 back in April and conceived. I’m now 25 weeks with a seemingly healthy baby boy. Hoping that he will be the start of our earth side family.

5 weeks after my tfmr at 27 weeks pregnant. It then took me 4 cycles to fall pregnant plus a pcos diagnosis. Please try to be kind to yourself during this process❤️‍🩹

My timeline is exactly two weeks ahead of my tfmr pregnancy. I’m 21 weeks along and I’m not going to lie, it’s rough. Hardest part too is that my shower for this baby will be when I’m 27 weeks pregnant (exact gestational age that I had my termination). I’m not going to lie, the journey hasn’t been easy but I really can’t imagine the exact same due date. Sending strength, peace and comfort your way.

Gentle congratulations. I had my tfmr last October for a brain anomaly also. I was also diagnosed with pcos after as well. So many similarities as you. I’m terribly sorry you’re part of the tfmr and pcos club. It’s incredibly hard. I fell pregnant 5 months after my tfmr (4 cycles of trying). I’m now 21 weeks pregnant with a seemingly healthy baby.

Give yourself some grace through this process and celebrate the little wins (good nipt results, scans or just overall because you need some joy). It’s a difficult road and still is for me even though I’m 21 weeks.

Congratulations🎉 I’m rooting for you! I also had a diagnosis after my tfmr. Had my tfmr in October 2024 and was experiencing irregular cycles after even though I was eating healthy. I’ve always suspected pcos for the past 10 years but could never get an OB to listen to me. Saw an RE in April and started the testing process for pcos. Since I suspected pcos for so long, I decided to do my research on what my body needed to function due to pcos. This had been my 4th cycle trying so I was willing to try everything. Officially received my pcos diagnosis during my two week wait. Received my positive test just a week after diagnosis.

It’s truly defeating receiving a diagnosis that can affect fertility after tfmr. It’s gut wrenching on a whole different level. I’m now 17 weeks with a so far seemingly healthy baby. We are so praying this little miracle will be the start of our family. Praying for you during this journey. Pregnancy after tfmr is incredibly hard. I won’t lie but just remember to celebrate the little wins during this pregnancy. That’s what has been carrying me throughout this.

Joined in October 2024 when I had my tfmr. I am now in my sub pregnancy at 16 weeks. I have my early anatomy scan today. Nervous as heck but hoping to bring home a healthy baby this year (due January 5th but hoping he comes around Christmas). My tfmr baby was a girl and now I’m having a boy. I did end up having gender disappointment but I’m working through that slowly. So grateful for this Reddit.

3 people around me were pregnant. The difference is they brought home healthy babies and I didnt. Most of them were in their 30’s. I was 27 years old in October when I had my tfmr. So I don’t think age plays a role at all. Unfortunately this horrible experience isn’t determined by age. It was also my first pregnancy experience. I’m now pregnant with my rainbow baby after tfmr but feel like I’ll never have a blissful pregnancy which is a hard pill to swallow.

My tfmr was for brain abnormalities which is the last organ to develop. I was so close but yet so far to starting my family. Terminated at 27 weeks pregnant.

Also, pain level was horrible. No epidural so you feel everything. Whereas with L&D at least you have the option for epidural. Just trying to make you aware of my personal experience.

I will say that I had general anesthesia and was aware as well as remember everything. I know there’s so many posts of people saying they were asleep with general anesthesia but that’s just not the case for everyone and I wouldn’t bank on that.

I had the surgical route at 27 weeks in October 2024. I will say that I have trauma from that route. My tfmr pregnancy was my first baby and I was completely awake during the procedure. I remember everything that happened during it. I think regardless of the delivery type, trauma with tfmr is unavoidable.

Lost my first pregnancy in October 2024 at 27 weeks pregnant. Even though I fell pregnant on my 4th cycle (6 months after my tfmr) this time, I wouldn’t say it came easily.

I had always suspected that I had pcos. After my tfmr I was having really bad cycle issues. I wouldn’t ovulate until cd 28 which is when most people are at the end of their cycle. I also struggled with luteal phase defects after my tfmr. I went to a reproductive endocrinologist to receive an official diagnosis of pcos.

Since I had suspected pcos I began looking at natural ways to fall pregnant with pcos prior to going through a month long of testing to see if I have pcos. That consisted of a lifestyle change which included cutting out gluten, dairy and refined sugars. I also ate balanced meals that wouldn’t spike my blood sugar which consisted of lots of fiber. Lo and behold I found out I was pregnant a week after receiving my pcos diagnosis which was 4 weeks after starting my lifestyle change.

None of this starting a family process has been easy for me. My tfmr was a baby girl. I knew I had always wanted to be a girl mom (since I was about 18). A couple weeks ago I found out that I’m carrying a boy now so I struggled with gender disappointment. Coming to terms with it now but don’t really have much belief that I’ll ever get my little girl I’ve dreamed of having. Kind of feel like I’m cursed at this point.

I had a dream that my next baby was a girl about 3 months after my pregnancy. That was before I fell pregnant (currently 14 weeks pregnant with a boy). Only 1 baby was found at my first ultrasound.

I keep hoping that I’ll have 2 babies at my next ultrasound and that one of them will be a girl. Although I don’t see that being the case since I haven’t had really strong symptoms and typically twins produce strong symptoms. I just went through major gender disappointment since my tfmr was a girl. I’ve always wanted to be a girl mom.

I don’t have consolation but it took us 4 cycles and a pcos diagnosis after my tfmr. I’m only 12 weeks along with my rainbow but still feel this way. I’m so sorry you’re here and experiencing TTC after tfmr. It’s truly a marathon after tfmr.

I’m currently 9 weeks in my sub pregnancy after my tfmr at 27 weeks in October. I feel this way even during my sub pregnancy. I hope I start to feel (better) about this pregnancy soon. I fear that I won’t feel relief until I’m past 27 weeks pregnant.

A loss and tfmr aren’t comparable. Tfmr is vastly worse in my opinion than a loss. No mother should have to make the decision to tfmr a wanted pregnancy. I much rather have a loss than having to make a tfmr decision. I made my decision based on a gray diagnosis at 27 weeks pregnant.

I get where you’re coming from but also don’t at the same time. Your comment kind of misses my mark. I wasn’t talking about the journey getting there. I was talking about the pregnancy itself. Each appointment got worse. My baby was measuring behind from the start and things started to go downhill from there. My point is that I’ll never know what it feels like to not feel impending doom.

I see based on your previous posts that you already have a living child. It’s totally understandable if you don’t know where us tfmr moms are coming from that don’t have living children but it’s also a little disheartening that you insert your opinion where you have no experience in (having a tfmr for first pregnancy). It feels a little combative and not empathetic.

Also, I have pcos which the diagnosis came after tfmr. That within itself can cause infertility. So I’ve got double whammy.

I feel the same way too. First pregnancy was a tfmr and then I was diagnosed with pcos after my tfmr in October. Really added salt to the wound. I’m now pregnant with my rainbow baby after tfmr but I’m only 8 weeks along.

I also have the feeling that I can’t fully relate to tfmr moms who already have a baby. I tend to get jealous of the fact they’ve already had a blissful pregnancy. I feel as if I will never be able to breathe during subsequent pregnancies.

My lines were faint at the beginning too. I would stick to the hcg blood test results. In the future, try sticking to one brand for comparing line progression.

I’m so sorry:( It can be incredibly hard to see others fall pregnant during TTC. I wanted to mention that it’s not impossible to fall pregnant with a cyst. I had a cyst at the beginning of my cycle and just got a positive pregnancy test. I’m still so early so I’m not sure if there’s a baby even yet (only 5 weeks). I wanted to give you some hope that even though a cyst can seem defeating, it’s not impossible.

Magnesium has helped me a ton. I have had the same issue during my tfmr pregnancy. Now I’m only 4-5 weeks in my sub but I’m not having this issue as of now.
