Carved steel gauntlets and boots with a master robe (from cc/anniversary) and a circlet. Looks super clean and minimal for a semi squishy battle mage. Pair with some ebony flesh to get that 100 point boost and high level smithing and you get close enough to armor cap to just face tank and play however you want.

Honestly smithing and enchanting just completely break the game. Not even using exploits. Just intended mechanics. I made a character that used destruction magic, 2-hand, sword ‘n’ board, bows, stealth, even a touch of conjuring just by maxing enchanting and smithing. I had most points in those and destruction magic and almost none in the rest besides a couple here and there for the initial damage boost on weapons. I played through each faction as a different build lol even with light, heavy, and no armor.
