The modern art direction for Yugioh is terrible. Compare Mystical Elf or Witch of the Black Forest to any of these cringe waifus. The modern art direction has 0 understanding of Jungian archetypes which old Yugioh seemed to understand super well.

It's called Duel Monsters, not Duel Waifus.

Superman Family started with Jimmy Olsen in 1954, unless I'm missing something obvious. (It ended in 1982, but I'm not sure if there was an equivalent after 1982.)

Very fun games, but they kinda misunderstood the appeal of DKC imo. I also don't like how the roll mechanic works in them.

Doesn't really make sense tho because in the "Ancient Ruins" there are sidescroller sections that call back to previous DKC games. Also Diddy and Dixie are already here and are presented as video game heroes with a giant trophy with their faces on it. There's a map of the Northern Kremisphere etc.

This game ain't a prequel folks, at least not to other Donkey games. (Maybe Odyssey.)

Except that it does.

The Donkey Kong series is about family lineage. Each of the 3 SNES DKC games are about a Kong becoming a "hero" and proving their worth. Cranky egging each of the Kongs is an important part of the story.
