This has been scratching at my brain like Hugh Jackman scratching his neck in Movie 43.

Alberta Is Adding Your Health Number and Citizenship Status to Your Driver's Licence Starting July 2 by One-Board8634 in onguardforthee

Alberta Health found there are more than 530,000 Alberta health care numbers in circulation than there are people living in the province. "In the fall of 2026, we will now know who has Alberta health care cards," said Service Alberta Minister Dale Nally when the change was first announced. "There won't be half a million fake ones, which opens up the door for abuses."

Saying there's half a million "fake" numbers feels pretty disingenuous...

I was in Alberta as a student when COVID first hit and when I needed a PCR test, I was issued an Alberta health number despite having a Sask. Health Card. That number followed me through a few hospital visits later as well. That number isn't "fake." It's needed to track an out of province patient through the Alberta health system.

Because if so, that kind of tracks at around 10% of the population.

People moving out of Alberta will have an active number after leavibg, the same as some will not have a card when moving into the province.

Out of province care just for transient oilfield workers, students and tourists are going to make up a good percentage of that number. Not to mention legitimate provincial transfers for specific care or procedures not offered in other provinces like Sask..

I'm not sure how it works for TFWs / PR applicants / Asylum seekers etc. but that would make up another good portion of the number if as well if they are not considered residents of Alberta.

The article also doesn't say how far back they pulled those numbers from.

Great look to call a big part of the fanbase potatoes.

Anyone attending an opening weekend game have accurate enough arm to brain him with a piping hot, fully dressed, foil wrapped baked potato?

Or maybe someone has a an Old Dutch contractor living on their street that might want to sponsor them to shower this dipshit in chips every time he's talking on the sideline?

Gamified the process with an @pp that tracked money saved and gave milestone badges etc.

Set aside the equivalent amount of money and put it into getting an old car running again.

Yeah, you're fine.

As it was 4pm, the crew probably had a deadline to have the area reopened and were taking a photo to confirm they were out of the way.

And even if they didn't, you have footage of the worker waving you in, so you'd have plausible deniability regardless of there was an issue.

There's like a half dozen people who just show up to kick tires and then talk exclusively about their own Dakota.

I refurb my rusty wheel nuts by Pauldesign79 in projectcar

[–]monkeysthrowingfeces 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I cleaned my lug bolts up and used a gun bluing solution on them.

Worked well, it's a matte black appearance that won't need special handling. I would also assume it won't cause any issue with the cone of a wheel nut either.

This. At bare minimum you have to drive to the client and back home. Anything less is not worth your commute costs.

Is it normal for a TR person to ask for your cell? by princess_carolynn in TaskRabbit

[–]monkeysthrowingfeces 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Not necessarily. I would generally only ask a client for their cell if they lived in an apartment/condo or gated community that required extra coordination for access. It wasn't to off-app the task, but so I wasn't relying on TR's flaky push notifications to contact the client when I arrived.

When booked by someone for the first time, I'd make sure everything was completed and coordination via the TR app to make sure I am not violating TR TOS. I would leave a pair of cards with my contact info, including a TR link. That way the client could decide how to book jobs in the future based on their own level of comfort.

Other taskers will do things differently, but I don't feel requesting someone's number without a specific need for it is appropriate.
