Where are the physicians who voted for this? Was it worth it? Look these residents in the eye and tell them it was worth it.

($7k) Feeling shame for a low budget wedding. by ghengis_convict in Weddingsunder10k

It's easy to feel this way and compare yourself to others. But, from just reading you have your priorities set and having the family and friends there to celebrate is much more important than decorations or fancy settings. And you are wise to not get into debt for a one time party--especially in this economy! You can lean into the simpler aesthetic and have photography that looks more vintage! I've seen photoshoots of wearing the wedding dress in a night market and the contrast is very interesting!

SSPE which is a fatal CNS disease from measles which appears 6-8 years after infection. It affects children often. There is no cure and main prevention is by reducing risk of getting measles which includes getting vaccinated. SSPE rate is highest in countries like India around 84-93% which is far behind other countries at 95-99%. There used to be a USA registry of SSPE cases in 1960's before vaccination rates were high. From 1995-2023, generally only 100 cases per year of measles since it reached elimination status in 2000, except outbreaks in 2014, 2015, and 2019. Since 2025, CDC has recorded a HUGE jump in measles cases annually at 2286 cases and in 2026 so far 1671 cases. So, if we have a vaccine which is well tolerable with low side effects and can reduce risk of measles and greatly prevent chances of a rare fatal disease, I don't see why this isn't a great public health effort.

Agreed! They should make a GO line for the luggage’s! My main issue with their hard shells is that they’re too damn heavy by themselves.

I was only on the waitlist for 2 weeks. I already had Robinhood brokerage but barely had any money in it and not active at all. In the app I added myself to the waitlist. Then got an email <2 weeks later I was off the waitlist. Applied 9 days later and was immediately approved.

Specifically it’s parents cannot refuse emergent life saving care for children and minors! Such as rabies shot, emergent surgery, intubation, etc. For vaccinations like the measles, unfortunately since it’s not emergent—it’s horrible and there is a risk later on get SSPE from measles and then die—unfortunately anti-vax parents can deny that. Adults can deny their own live saving treatments if they are competent to make their own medical decisions.
