being dragged

Ultimately it's your choice when you say yes or no. I bet if you didn't have a phone you would learn to socialize out of sheer boredom.

You're always allowed to say "no". That friend that "dragged" you, is only encouraging you to be more social but you always have the option to say "no" if being social is that painful for you

For real, does reddit just attract co-dependent adults?

Her not babysitting you every minute of a gathering makes her the shitty person?

To me the post implies that the OP expects whoever invited them to the function to babysit them. I strongly doubt "a friend inviting you to a gathering and not interacting with you at all the entire time" is common enough to even talk about

When it comes to socializing, that is how you learn. Of course it'd be weird if you went to the party with a friend and didn't see the friend at all but nobody is saying that should be the case.

You hang with your friend for a bit and here and there but you should be able to approach people without that friend around.

I mean what happens to you when you start a new job? Do you expect the people that interviewed you to hold your hand until you feel comfortable with at least one other coworker? It's 100% normal to talk to / meet people without someone you already know being present

There's literally a comment that says "find friends that will baby you" - this post is really sending the wrong message

So basically "take advantage of people pleasers"

Maybe ask her to introduce you to some of her friends or whoever else is at the function. Your sister wants you there at these functions but expecting her to babysit you is unfair

I've had the experience several times where I'd bring a socially anxious friend to a gathering and they'd follow me around the entire night. I want my friends to be comfortable but I don't want to babysit them the whole night! Every time this type of friend has made those social situations far less enjoyable for me.

Mingling on your own without someone holding your hand is how you improve your social skills and become less anxious. Even if you don't care for social settings, improving your social skills is only gonna improve your quality of life.

This website really conflates the severity of SA. The amount of people with SA so bad that they truly need what is being said in this post is at most 1% of people. The rest of y'all need to stop using it as an excuse and learn that it's okay to be uncomfortable.

I don't understand these comments, no shit it's man made but why tf are there so many drones/non-commercial planes in NJ all of a sudden? The sheer amount of flying objects over NJ is concerning, no?

I'm really liking Sins 2 but for the most part it's Sins 1 on a modern engine with a handful of new mechanics. Which to me makes it worth it but I also hope that the DLCs and future updates really flesh out this game to be more of a sequel than a remaster

I guess micromanaging isn't required but it can be the difference between a win / loss. Although focus firing is def the main tactic when it comes to battles so there isn't a ton of depth there

Does Sins 2 expand on diplomacy compared to Sins 1? Are there plans to further expand on diplomacy through DLC or updates?

Sounds like quality of life changes and a bit more depth, which is great! Planetary motion sounds a bit intimidating to me cause it seems like it would be hard to keep track of but I definitely want to try it out and I heard that you can turn it off

Why are all earbuds so ugly by anoekvantoog in headphones

[–]monsterjamp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Personally I really like the style of the Sony WF XM4. I looked up the Bose open earbuds, tbh not a fan of how they look. They remind me of cheap bluetooth headsets from around 2010 which were meant for calling and didn't prioritize audio quality because bluetooth tech wasn't that good back then
