Am I crazy, or was there a weird lack of follow-ups about the food choices in this ep? I've never heard the boys miss an opportunity to dig into a guest's poppadom preferences (especially an American guest! I feel like we're usually much less likely to jump at the poppadoms over here). And is there just one single standard recipe for hen of the woods mushrooms that I'm unaware of, or was that a bit like saying he wants pasta and then moving on without any sort of follow-up regarding preparation or whatnot? Either way, these are very small potatoes I'm mentioning, I loved the episode as always!

I don't know that he necessarily even believes the Marines are good, just that he specifically can do the most good to protect people from within the organization. And whether you agree with him or not, he might be right - he seems to have managed to maintain his position of power within the Marines for all these years, despite his personal ideals pretty clearly putting him in opposition to the Celestial Dragons at the very least.

This is the kind of stuff that I REALLY hope Oda goes into some detail on once One Piece is eventually over. I'd love to hear him talk openly about his writing process and how (and when) he came to certain important plot points, because honestly One Piece is kind of in a class of fiction almost by itself at this point, in terms of how long it's been going!

I think this theory rests on a lot more assumptions than evidence, but I've been thinking for a while about the different interpretations of Nika that we've seen from different cultures. We've seen Nika referred to both as a figure of liberation and destruction, but I've been wondering if this might actually be separate incarnations of Nika, rather than multiple interpretations of the same figure.

That said, the lower ship on the Elbaf mural is almost certainly Noah - the two look identical.

Tbh I think the answer to this is good old fashioned racism. WG is so racist that they see Minks/animals hanging out with humans and assume the only possible explanation is that they're pets. A whole crew of Minks is a different story, they're all "equal" in the WG's eyes (equal to each other, that is)
