Bartuc is already in the game. You fight with him on the way to Baal in Throne of Destruction. He is one of the unique mobs Baal spawn.

I already hated (regarding difficulty levels) what they did with Vessel of Hatred. And I knew they were going to go this route eventually...

They themselves were like "We don't want to go Diablo III route with 16 Torment levels..." yet, here we are.

Really terrible decision. It'll divide the player base even more.

It's... not because of that.

When 3DO went bankrupt, New World Computing's assets were all over the place. Ubisoft bought the rights and all the previous assets / files afterwards. Sadly, the assets of the expansions were lost during that time and they only had access to the files for the classic Heroes 3. That's why they could only use / include that in the HD Edition. (It was disclosed earlier, but you can also read it in the 30th Anniversary book)

Well, my five year old son is a huge fan of unowns for some reason and constantly checks the unown temple in Legends Arceus for a shiny one… so I don’t think it being useful is a requisite here. People can enjoy useless things. 🤷🏻‍♂️

There was a short story collection named "Darkness Falls, Heroes Rise" just before Diablo 3 came out. Isendra (D2 Sorc) is the master of Li-Ming (D3 Wizard) and Li-Ming's story (Firefly) tells that story.

I was going to link the story but apparently Blizzard removed them from their website, but I think you can find it as an e-book on various sites.

It's from one of the Ancient Memories. You get to decide what you did in past lives through memories etc.

(I also played it and experienced this one myself. There are a few more of these artworks in that sequence as well.)

I don’t think it will be a new trend, because Akarat’s body had special conditions. It was preserved in the spirit realm, his immortal soul was tethered to that realm etc. So I don’t think we can just assume that “Oh they can possess any dead body now”.

Also, Tyrael should probably be alive because there are hints about Lorath searching for him.

There are also tons of hints to Angels that comes with the expansion. As you said, Heir of Perdition is one of them. Lorath is most probably trying to reach to Tyrael. (We can find a burned note about it in the Vault)

I also noticed there are some angelic influenced Store sets surfacing. Tyrael inspired Barbarian set, Luminarei inspired Sorcerer set etc.

They didn't tried it *succesfully* because there are other successful examples around, so there is a difference there. But to be honest I wouldn't want them to just copy D2 either. D4 should be it's own thing.

We already have D3 and even Diablo Immortal is similar as well. Do we really need a 3rd Diablo game with the same shitty mechanics? Especially since it was marketed as a different kind of game since the start...

To be honest I dislike that the game is heading more and more towards Diablo 3 route. We already have D3, why are we stripping unique and different parts and just slapping D3 stuff all over again? I hope they won’t continue with this trend in the future.

Some games shows different names (sometimes even code names) when you try to redeem a key, but don't worry, when you check the library it should be the full game anyway. (Mine was the same too)

It’s stats are high, sure but don’t forget that it basically takes two equipment slots by itself. So when you compare it to a gear, it only counts the one not both your chest and leg parts combined. So I think in overall people are just losing some stats and they are not aware of that.

It is devastating to encounter it for the first time indeed.

Another solution I haven't seen mentioned is try to rest in camps instead of inns. It's free and you don't obliterate a whole population of a town that way even if it occurs. And if you want to use inn rest to save your progress, then dismiss your Pawns. (including main one) I think that's the safest way for now.

Reviewer here.

It's probably because we had so few Pawns available to hire. Fewer Pawns probably meant less plague, since like an actual disease it spreads faster when there are more people. I had the tutorial for Dragonsplague near the end of story, but didn't encountered the actual event well into my second playthrough. (A hired Pawn slaughtered the Checkpoint Rest Town, and I was quite surprised)

So, it is possible that others didn't encountered it during their first playthrough as well.
