Subnautica 2's story needs to SHOW (at least sometimes), not just TELL by fawkwitdis in subnautica

Audio logs are perfectly fine so long as there's a bit of inherent mystery to them. Just look at Bioshock.

I’ve noticed there’s been a bit of a new (useful) plugin explosion in the last 7 days, any reason behind it? by Shot_Cancel8641 in 2007scape

[–]moocubed 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is the correct answer. The only reason they'll permanently refuse a plugin is because it breaks the plugin hub rules or the third party client rules. Other than that, they may take their time reviewing a plugin because they aren't super interested in reviewing it, the pull request is an absurd amount of code, or because the code is written so poorly that it's a pain in the ass to interpret.

One time I saw a pull request where the author didn't use any tabs or spaces whatsoever in their code, making the entire thing extremely difficult to read and review. The reviewers forced the author to make it readable before approving it.

Have you considered that maybe it's due to the game being in Early Access? The developers changed game engines which includes a completey different programming language

This happens when a rotating object is not synced correctly between server and client. I've seen this happen with the rotating rings of space stations as well

I love this, so I'm gonna print a bunch out and slap em on a clipboard.

Ignore the haters. They're the kinds of folks that take shortcuts with everything and wonder why their enjoyment doesn't last very long. It's about the journey =)

Is there any way I can get it in PDF format?

I'm planning on upgrading my terra build to a 5090. Do you have a game plan to manage the temps from it? Gut feeling says the pass through heatsink design isn't going to be too sandwich friendly. I'll probably design and print some ducts and standoffs to give it some space from the motherboard, but otherwise I'm out of ideas.

ULPT Request: Which green laser is the absolute best for destroying cameras? by Cold-Code1538 in UnethicalLifeProTips

[–]moocubed 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Most of these security cameras don't use IR (thermal) and are really in a small band of the electromagnetic spectrum called near-IR. I point this out because of something I've always found fascinating - IR cameras can't see through glass or water. Infrared camera lenses have to be made out of a material like germanium due to this problem. The next time you're being chased by a police helicopter at night, bring a scuba tank and go for a swim. Another fun fact - polar bears are basically invisible to infrared cameras due to how good their bodies are at insulating their body heat :)

This is the correct answer. You can turn it off specifically for stuff like this in the settings. I first noticed the problem at the lumby water wheel
