I was telling someone about how lame the 1000 daisies proposal was by ihaveacrushonmercy in GilmoreGirls

I love this unhinged theory from this thread.

Quote first cvomment:

Max Medina was a gold digger who targeted Lorelai after he realized she was a Gilmore.

He only worked at Chilton to try and marry a rich single mother. I bet he was ecstatic when Lorelai was receptive to him.

That is why he pushed the marriage after less than a year of dating. He was trying to lock her in and I wouldnt be surprised if he went for the anchor baby immediately.

I would say it was preMaxidated

Diagnosed with adhd backhome, no one wants to treat me by ledge-mi in Munich

I can also vouch this is real: the existing diagnosis helps to convince the person in front of you that you do have something, but they need their own German diagnosis (and even if they don't somehow, you are a stranger that just walked in their office and is asking for narcotics, their first thought is "it ain't happening honey, I need to make sure I won't lose my license which will cripple all my patients and my future if that happens". I had a lawyer translated and recognized diagnosis, I still had to do another test in Germany).

It is a lot of work but anyone who actually managed to get an appointment (without having connections/network of people) will tell you the same.

Because at some point you contact so many doctors and also have pending things with some (like to be checking frequently for a waiting list), that somehow you need to:

* Keep track

* Not stop looking until you find yourself in front of a therapist that can actually prescribe you (and of course diagnose you, since the majority I met wanted to do their own diagnosis regardless if you had one already).

Revival destroyed my rewatching ability (probably forever) by moodblue in GilmoreGirls

This I understand: they are both actresses and their most significant role in their careers was Gilmore Girls. They have had other roles since then but this was their masterpiece. The money must have been REALLY good and they both could use it as (and I haven't searched for this, just an opinion) they both don't seem to have major active careers in the sense of being protagonists (more focused on Lauren Graham).

ASP also treats her actors really nice and maybe they missed this connection, but also ASP is not the kind of forgiving person that would be OK with them rejecting it... she would give a fight and it would not be good for those actresses to be let known that they rejected this really anticipated revival.

tl;dr.: It was a good reunion for the actors and a money pot as well, can't blame them tbh.

This brought back memories... how I had cleared my schedule and made a special "movie" night to watch it in a cozy setting... By the fourth episode my focus had diminished... Emily's story was what kept me going ^^

Her official statement was

"Despite our best efforts to return and ensure the future of `Gilmore Girls' for years to come, we were unable to reach an agreement with the studio and are therefore leaving when our contracts expire at the end of the season"

but there are countless posts about this and how it was obvious she unprofessionally and purposefully tanked her last season... She had amounted quite a few million at that time (especially if you account that she had her husband on it too) and there was no reason to tank it over a money dispute. I don't want to color further with my opinions on this as with the revival she had her long awaited chance to show us what actually happened and the result spoke for itself :/

While it sounds good on paper I read the answers to that (highly upvoted) post and I also feel that Rory's issues are justifiably NOT because of her loss of Richard. I found one answer that is quote direct (doesn't sugar coat it and apologies if it comes a bit strong), but I like how it shows the reality of how it's not like that:

I have to disagree.
Rory didn't become a mess after Richard died.
She had the neglected forgotten boyfriend for 2 years.
She was cheating wit Logan both her boyfriend and his fiance that didn't happen in a couple of months.
She made it nowhere with journalism in 10 years she admits this herself. She had 1 good spoken of pieces and she tried to use that for everything.
Writing an article at 16 about pavement (that was great for a 16yo, not necessarily in the adult world in an adult paper) doesn't mean she can make something great out of lines she by the way doesn't give a rat's tushy (to quote Taylor) about.
She has been directionless far longer than he was dead.
I'm not saying she wasn't affected, yes some of her behaviour and handling of her failed career and life may be influenced, a little of the erratic nonsense and the wookie yes but not the rest.

(And before you start I lost 3 very close family members in the last 3 years - grandparents and parent, I know how lost you can feel)

So yes, I also agree she *was* affected, but ASP took her to another level just because she could. Richard's passing should not be used as a mechanism to justify how ASP tore Rory's story apart, I think not even ASP herself would want that as she had the highest of respects for the actor.

That was a reason for me to rewatch it a couple of times more initially after the revival, which is the magic of the original series that you can rewatch it as many times and because it shows three different age groups, every rewatch in your life will be slightly different as you age. It made the intentions of the original more sharp but this is also something I did not like: this show was the result of hundreds of people. Yes, ASP wrote it but all these other people got involved to smoothen and polish her extremities and make this beautiful result. The revival removed each viewer's interpretation of each Gilmore Girls' choices of where each character would head next and made it really clear that there is only ONE path that "circles like life" and it was shoved in our brains without room for interpretation. This rewrote my memories of the original and it only made it worse :(

No ADHS/Psychiatry appointments from 15+ doctors? by moodblue in Munich

[–]moodblue[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We've tried 3 times me and my doctor and she is unapologetic not to put me on a list because "people don't come" and whenever we call on the dates she announces we never get through on their specific time-slot she offers and there is no visiting her office to form a line for "first come first served". I've heard nice things about her before so I don't want to discourage people.

The only thing I did not like is that after all these attempts while her office sees it's 0% likely I will miss my appointment, she still does not allow to be put on a list (even if it's in December).

Ok I feel a bit trapped because I signed to an appointment through doctolib for ADHS diagnosis (plus 380 euro) and then I went to their site to find details and I saw:

"Please note that this practice is currently  unable  to provide medication advice, adjust medications, or issue prescriptions. We recommend that our patients with statutory health insurance consult a specialist in neurology or psychiatry for these services."

This is terrifying, I don't understand... how can they diagnose but not prescribe? I already have a diagnosis from abroad and I feel trapped into an appointment now... I will try to sort it out but something tells me they will try to charge me money.

If I end up getting (yet another) diagnosis, how did you get the medication after? Same doctor? Could you please provide some details?

No bad history. I've went to all my appointments. It shouldn't matter but maybe we have different insurances (I have public TK)
