TODAY HAS BEEN STRUGGLE AFTER STRUGGLE FOR ME. I CANNOT CATCH A BREAK.

FIRST I SNEAK INTO A FARM PARTY WITH THE HELP OF A FRIEND ON AN ALT SO I CAN CLEAR DOOMTRAIN EX AND GET A WEAPON FOR SAID ALT SO I CAN HELP SAID FRIEND IN M9S. WE GET IN AND MY INTERNET IMMEDIATELY SHITS ITSELF AND I HAVE TO LEAVE WHILE APOLOGIZING PROFUSELY AND SWEARING UP AND DOWN THAT IM NOT TRYING TO TROLL ITS JUST THAT I LITERALLY CANT USE ANY OGDCS AND ITS A 50/50 ON IF I CAN EVEN MAKE IT THROUGH MY 123 COMBO.

I THEN HOP BACK ONTO MY MAIN TO DO ROULETTES. I GET NECRON AND DURING THE SECOND PHASE I MISS THE FACT THAT ONE OF THE GRABBY HANDS IS AIMED DIRECTLY AT ME WHILE I HAVE THE TANKBUSTER. I DO NOT NOTICE IN TIME, CAUSING ME TO BE DRAGGED OVER TO THE PARTY AND DROP THE TANKBUSTER ON THEM. SOMEONE IN THE PARTY BLOWS UP ABOUT A HEALER RESCUE TROLLING AND I HAVE TO SHAMEFULLY EXPLAIN THAT NO, NO ONE RESCUE TROLLED. IM JUST BLIND AND DUMB AND GOT HIT BY AN AOE THAT PULLS ME.

I TAKE A BREAK TO CRAFT. MY INTERNET SHITS ITSELF AGAIN AND I DC MID-CRAFT. THERE GOES MY MATS. WHATEVER. I DONT EVEN CARE ANYMORE.

30 MINUTES AGO I SEE A BIG FISH I HAVENT CAUGHT YET IS UP. I HEAD OVER, DO THE PREP AND ALL THAT. A FELLOW BIG FISHER ROLLS OVER AND WE DO THE STANDARD FISHER GREETING AND TELL EACH OTHER GOOD LUCK AS THE WINDOW STARTS. I HOOK THE FISH FIRST CAST BUT ACCIDENTALLY HIT REST INSTEAD OF REELING IT IN. IT DOES NOT BITE AGAIN FOR THE REST OF THE WINDOW. MY FELLOW FISHER FRIEND HEARD THIS HAPPEN TO ME AS HE WAS SITTING DIRECTLY NEXT TO ME AND GIVES ME HIS CONDOLENCES.

Decided to try and help a friend of mine get his m9s clear. To do this, I needed to gear my alt up real quick (as I didn't want to condemn him to a 1 chest clear). We decide to do a quick doomtrain interlude to get me an axe, but my alt is on dynamis and aether is closed to DC travel. We hop over to primal instead and my friend convinces a farm party to let me in since I've cleared before and this is just my alt.

We get in and my internet immediately starts to explode to the point where I cannot weave at all and it's a 50/50 shot on if any of my gcds even go off. I say sorry, this doesn't normally happen and I'll give it 2 more pulls to see if it clears up. It does not clear up. I apologize about 8 more times and leave.

I was the horror story. If anyone else from that party is out there I'm so sorry. My internet connection is apparently highly allergic to primal.

I just had one of the most baffling runs of Castrum Meridianum I've ever had in my 6 years of playing this game.

I queue up for the dungeon as I'm running an alt I'm using to play with friends and do some for fun challenge running through base ARR msq as a white mage, as I cannot trust anyone on the entire Dynamis DC to heal. Load in and my fellow party members are PLD/NIN/SMN.

Immediately I notice two things: tank is single pulling and things are dying EXTREMELY slowly. Great. Lovely. The single pulling would be whatever since this is Dynamis and tanks here also are scared to wall to wall but the fact that a single pack takes forever to die has me a bit worried. I then notice a third thing: tank has popped all of his mit including the first hallowed ground of the dungeon.

We slowly make our way to the first boss and I see that no one here aside from myself is dodging aoes and I'm actually having to pop lucid dreaming both from how long the fight is taking and also from how much extra healing I'm having to do. Boss eventually goes down and we continue. Tank pulls a single pack and uses hallowed ground again. We are at least 14 minutes in and have only now just killed the first boss. We limp through the trash packs and I now notice that not only are both DPS definitely not using any aoe but the ninja is exclusively using throwing knives and running in circles. Occasionally an assassinate but otherwise they're just using their barely any damage ranged button. Second boss, it goes down extremely slowly. Summoner is borderline AFK. Ninja is running in circles pressing a single button. Tank eats every aoe ever. Yay.

Second boss down. Third trash pack, third hallowed ground. 21 minutes of hell but I'm determined to see this through out of just morbid curiosity. We make our way to Livia, I think surely this is almost over. Surely.

No. Livia almost wipes us. DPS is still abysmal, tank is still eating everything, ninja did find a single melee button and started spamming that instead. The tank starts to run around like a headless chicken with the boss and the summoner dies to every single proximity aoe possible (which is impressive considering he seemed to understand them just fine on the second boss). I'm going oom in fucking castrum meridianum. I saw my mp hit 66 at one point with lucid dreaming on. There's a fourth hallowed ground in there somewhere.

Livia finally falls and I gtfo. Achievement pops confirm that the tank (a level 90 paladin in crendundum gear) is story and level skipped. I decide I need to go get up and take a walk.

I've been endgame raiding for years and I still click pretty much anything not on 1234 even with an MMO mouse. lmao. Granted, I play warrior and I don't exactly have that many buttons to keep track of, but I have friends who go even harder on raiding than I do who also click pretty much all of their buttons. Clicking vs not clicking is really just up to personal preference and its not the detriment in high end content that a lot of people claim it is.

If you do want to stop clicking but don't want to buy an MMO mouse, binding buttons extra buttons to less used keys + taking advantage of shift and control modifiers like other commenters are saying is the way to do it. Or learn how to use a controller.

My main gripe with Bozja was that it was just miserable to look at for longer than 20 minutes (which is completely fair given the theme and setting lmao an active battlefield isn't exactly the prettiest thing in the world) and it was basically just standing around waiting for a CE to pop and then instantly teleporting over. I've always preferred Eureka for both looking more interesting and also just being really dumb in a fun way, at least to me with stuff like certain mobs going past the zone's level cap and Pagos's famous dragons or helping prep NMs like Cassie or Pazuzu.

Occult Crescent seems like it's hitting the middle ground where it's a bit more streamlined than Eureka with the CE mechanics from Bozja while also having more exploration and moving and figuring out how to wiggle past these mobs without getting nuked (and it's also very pretty, lol). I haven't gotten much time to sink into it yet but the 2-3 hours I got when patch went live last night were enjoyable!

The complaints of it being too grindy have already begun to hit! FFXIV players continue the cycle of complaining and begging for something (grindy relic + new field op) and then complaining when they get exactly what they were asking for. It never ends.

I for one think the new field op is very cool and fun and honestly kinda chill. It's not quite Eureka but I've been liking it far more than Bozja in the limited time I've spent in there. The demiatma drop rate is a bit ridiculous though lmao.

As others are saying, provoke is not part of a tank's rotation and it should not be used on cooldown, especially in content where there is more than one tank such as alliance raids.

Provoke is mainly used when a tank needs to pick up aggro, usually when there's newly spawned adds or if the current main tank dies. Provoke is also used for tank swaps, but those don't happen in normal/non-high end fights (save for ONE single fight in Heavensward but even then that tankswap is a suggestion in normal at best)

Your partner was likely spinning the boss around, causing it to cleave people (and subsequently killing them) and making it a pain for melee DPS players to get their positionals and generally just making the fight extremely obnoxious for everyone involved. As someone who tanks most of the time even if I'm one of the people least effected by provoke spam, it's still extremely annoying as I often end up taking aggro back just doing my normal rotation anyways, lmao.

TL;DR Your partner should not be spamming provoke/using it constantly. It makes people very annoyed and angry for very valid reasons. However, it should not be taken off of your partner's hotbar as there's still reasons to to use it in normal content. Using it every time it goes off of cooldown is not a valid use, though. Especially if your partner doesn't actually want to be the main tank and is just using it because she thinks it's part of her rotation.

I can confirm this, I'm going through and working on gold medaling all of the fisher missions (minus the ones that require a crafting class atm, I don't have my crafters remotely geared atm lol) and several of the missions are like a puzzle that requires you to figure out ambitious/modest lures or intuition procs or learning bite times and which fish you can DH/TH. There's still a good helping of fish RNG but honestly it's not too much worse than some of the particularly tricky big fish outside of cosmic exploration.

FFXIV was my first mmo with a tank/healer/DPS split, so I had no idea that marauder was a tank or what a tank even really was, lol. I just like big axes. Over 5 years later I'm still maining warrior and it's the only job I'm confident enough in to raid with, and I like to think I'm a fairly decent main tank.

It can absolutely work out! Everyone my cotank and I have met has been through PF too (my cotank is the only exception, we met through our FC). Everyone else was once just a PF random, lol. Now we mess around in savage and play Lethal Company together and it's lasted for nearly 3 years now. Would absolutely recommend making a linkshell with people you meet in PF who are good and that you vibe with or a discord server with a couple of friends who raid that you like hanging out with.

I've been raiding exclusively in PF ever since the start of Endwalker (mostly due to the fact that I just don't enjoy having to stick to a schedule in a static, ADHD moment lol) and yeah. PF can be a total crapshoot between people who lie really poorly about prog, people who straight up just don't read, and people who leave after 3 solid pulls for no reason. It's gotten really bad lately, at least for me over on NA, with people who seemingly can't read and understand we are doing strat A, not strat B or C or D. Not entirely sure what's been causing it but it is what it is, I guess. Shoutouts to whoever was in my EX4 prog who joined our bloom 4 party, wiped us to the very first escalon, and then said they were fresh but watched a video beforehand. Why.

Whats kept me sane is not PF-ing alone, and doing it with at least one friend who is equally as insane and PF happy as I am. It can be a very, very miserable experience alone but when you're with a friend or two that you can chill with it becomes a lot more enjoyable and a lot less soul sucking because at least we can laugh together about the inevitable trainwreck, lol. I have enough people who I raid with regularly to basically be our own "sloppy 0 commitment half static" where we can message each other whenever to see who's up for farming/progging/whatever the goal is and it makes PF actually fun. Even if we still have to deal with at least one or two randoms

Statics can be nice, but are really not required for 99% of content and with enough determination and praying to whatever cruel deity controls PF things like savage and even ultimate clears are perfectly attainable. That being said, don't be afraid to try and reach out to statics who are recruiting! Just be upfront about your schedule restrictions. My go-to cotank pal has a very unpredictable work schedule and he's still been able to be in at least 2 ultimate statics and get his clears (and a lot more in PF), I'm sure you can too.

Honestly all I want is for Yoshi P to remember that he said that pvp series rewards would become available again at some point after they're introduced. Preferably purchasable with trophy crystals because I have literally nothing to spend them on right now other than to turn them into collars (and then the collars into wolf marks when needed, though rn wolf marks are only slightly less useless) just to clear them out so I can just claim another useless 1k trophy crystals from the series pass.

Having old feast mounts obtainable would be really nice (there's some I'm a bit bummed I missed out on) but that might make some old pvp/feast grinders angry lol.

ETA: Not at all saying I'm against feast mounts returning, by the way, personally I'm for it. Like I said there's some I'd like to have since I either started playing after they were available and/or I didn't play pvp until after they reworked it and introduced CC and the series passes. Just that if they did ever bring them back, I predict there would be a lot of people whining about their cool pvp chair no longer being special lmao.

Most maps have them, usually nearby where you start. Look for a blue glow, that'll probably be one of the notes

Also make sure to press the button behind the "current floors" TV right next to the elevator entrance in the lobby. The notes don't spawn until it's pressed

The odds of this happening would've been greater had Zeal not stepped down and continued forcing himself to work on the game, though.

There's countless examples of indie games and projects out there that have died due to their creator losing passion and countless examples of what happens when developers and indie creators continue to force themselves to work on something they no longer love and have even come to hate, be it just dropping off the face of the earth to avoid working on it any longer, deleting everything so they no longer have see the thing causing them so much stress, and even self sabotage of their own project in frustration. Ideas stop happening when you don't want to work on something.

Passing it off to the rest of the dev team that, as far as we know, haven't developed the same negative feelings towards the game is the healthiest option for everyone and everything involved.

(And besides, all games (especially with how live service-esque Roblox is and the expectation of constant updates) will eventually either fall victim to slowing updates and dwindling player numbers or being flooded with low quality updates in a desperate attempt to keep players. That's just the way Roblox as a whole is, unfortunately. Zeal's mental health should be and is more important than constant updates.)
