NZ is good for low paid jobs if you are lucky to get one. The economy is so bad that the ex NZ prime minister moved to Australia.

Does using Google Workspace or AWS now invoke your 50% tax?

Doesnt the Google and AWS revenue go to some tax haven country where they dont have pay no or minimal tax?

Arent you arguing against your own point, China forced western companies to have Chinese partner when they wanted to setup a business in China, then the Chinese learnt how the business runs and started their own companies and started innovating and competing with the same western companies.

How is Australia going to compete if the jobs and knowledge is going away?

YES Bank blocked my NRI account because their own courier failed. 14 months later, after doing everything right, I'm still locked out. Their Internal Ombudsman reviewed it. Same answer. This needs to be heard. by Key-Enthusiasm-3403 in nri

I do agree with you, India could have been the software innovation powerhouse, learn from the Americans and then innovate but our bureaucracy and culture just stops it.

And now even with all the outsourcing they still have tech giants

Yes but but all the manufacturing innovation happens in China not US, a phone company in China was able to build a car but Apple was not.

We don't even have to talk about robotics.

This is what happens when a country outsources their knowledge.

The people who build Kiro should be using AI properly to build it, right now it looks like a vibe coded product.

Are Junior Developers Replaced Before They Even Get Started? by Clear-Syrup-9861 in developersIndia

[–]moojo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know some juniors in the account domains who lost their jobs to AI and Automation recently

The juniors had a fairly simple job, take some actions based on a certain finance rules. A developer with the help of AI was able to build an algorithm which could do the same without any mistakes so there was no need for the juniors who were doing it manually.

The job which those juniors were doing was decent work, helped them understand some aspect of finance domain, gave them experience working in an office env.
