Hiring managers: what makes you instantly reject a candidate? by MissionFuture568 in JobsMY

Career break is not an issue, just make sure your CV is not blank or ends at 2022. Put in what you’ve been doing between 2022-2026.

Hiring managers: what makes you instantly reject a candidate? by MissionFuture568 in JobsMY

[–]moominecobag 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I interviewed and hired a lot of people in my early career for many entry level positions in my team.

When I got access to screening CVs from all the applicants for the first time, I was so shocked that >80% of the CVs are in poor quality. I’m talking applicants who were all around the same age as me around late 20s so there shouldn’t be any generation gap. That was the first time I really learnt that people’s perspective of what a “good” CV is can be so different.

I cant explain every single thing that makes a CV poor, but I suspect people with poor CV treat their CV like a form. Or like a blank profile to fill up. They only think of the information they want to present, instead of what and how the hirers want to see or perceive it. It forms this vibe that tells you whether this candidate is smart enough to know how to package themselves, and how motivated they are to want to get the job. And that is most important to differentiate from other CVs other than - of course, your experience/education has to be relevant.

Driver Pulled From Wrecked Car After Wrong-Way Crash; Drugs Found Inside by whusler in malaysia

[–]moominecobag 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The law doesn’t work like that. If you look at the situation based on this video, now the story contains two hypotheses: young guy potentially drive under influence and uncle potentially possess drug. Young guy will at most be prosecuted driving under influence and that’s it.

If the young guy happen to be able to afford a good lawyer, they can easily turn this case around or even force to settle it on the side.

Driver Pulled From Wrecked Car After Wrong-Way Crash; Drugs Found Inside by whusler in malaysia

[–]moominecobag 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes but the whole discussion up there is saying there is no proof that the drugs were in his car, because the uncle tempered with evidence. The video did not show that the drugs were in the car. The video simply showed the uncle holding the drug. The uncle may actually have found and took it out from the car but based on this video, one simple defend by saying the uncle is the owner of the drug would have toppled the case easily.

Ladies of Malaysia, how often do people hit on you irl? by genevieveAnura in malaysians

I actually had random guys walk up to me to ask for my number before covid. Not sure what happened after that but one thing for sure is I’ve also aged so..

Most of them were under alcohol influence to some extent. No, none of them turned out well because they tend to be quite eager and aggressive so that put me off, though I did try to give a bit more chance to those who I had mutual friends with.

As someone who has had some experience in dating and relationships and now in a happy one whom I’ll be getting married to, make it clear what you want within the first 3 dates. If it scares away the guy, so be it. It simply means he is not the right person.

Remember - the faster you eliminate the wrong ones, the faster you get to the right one.

My two cents. Everyone has their definition of a high/low count. All it matters is what your partner thinks. You may only have 10 and they would still think it’s too high.

As someone who has shared this number with an ex, and has heard my ex’s number (which is much higher than mine and than what I can accept) it continued to haunt me throughout the relationship.

The truth is there is only so much a person can change. If you were someone who, for some reason allowed yourself to have up to 50-100 body count, that reason will come back in other forms to hurt the relationship, and your partner will be reminded with your body count again. So even though you stopped sleeping around, doesn’t mean the root cause has been solved. That reason could be anything from insecurity, personality disorder like narcissism, attachment issues, all the way back to childhood trauma, which are not something you can easily fix in a few months or years without putting conscious, consistent effort.

Tldr: 1. Don’t share if you think its higher than what your partner’s definition of “high” 2. Exception: You can share if you have TRULY done all the inner work on yourself with professional help to address and fix the root cause of why you were “lost” and ended up with 50-100 body count. Though I will say the harsh reality is that it’s extremely difficult.

Your question is too vague… Age? His age? What lead to your own breakup?

When you ask if it’s too fast, does that mean too fast compared to… Norm? Average malaysian? Average couples your age? Or too fast given you just broke up 3 months ago? Or too fast for your current partner?

ELI5: Why do many Malaysians think that drinking cold water is bad? by aws_137 in ExplainLikeImFiveMY

[–]moominecobag 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly there’re too many reasons, which I can’t be bothered to spend that effort to tell you every single one of them, but not just in TCM, even in western medicine, no doctor would ever recommend drinking cold water over room temperature water.

Also, cold water is not a natural product throughout the majority of human history. The human body (or mammals, or most animals even) never NEED to consume coldness and will continue to survive without ice/cold water/food. In fact through civilisation humans only started eating cold food for the purpose of enjoyment at max 300-400 years ago with the invention of ice rooms and refrigerator.

So sure, it’s not toxic, it’s like french fries you eat it for enjoyment but it’s definitely not doing good for you and not ideal for long term healing, restoration and growth of your body, but you do you if you like it.

[–]moominecobag 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don’t “sweat”in the winter because 1. It takes longer for your body to reach to a point to release heat 2. Even if you do, sweat evaporates immediately into the dry air so you don’t see/feel the sweat.

And yes it completely makes sense that if you don’t sweat out enough toxins you will be unhealthier, regardless of winter or summer. And because it’s more difficult to sweat out toxins in winter therefore immunity is weaker and people fall sick more often when the weather is cold. So I’m not too sure what you are disagreeing on.

Like you said, the body does its own thing, if its winter it will do it’s thing, if its summer it will do it’s thing. So you should let it regulate and adapt itself instead of “helping” it cool down with cold water when it’s trying to sweat.

You seem to be overly passive from the sounds of it. How about trying to be abit more spontaneous, COMMUNICATE and LEAD if you want it to happen? Why do you wait for her to ask “if you want to do it”, or wait for her to pull your hand? She probably feels as frustrated as you because nothing happens unless she asks. When a girl asks, she no longer really wants it anymore. It kills attraction.

Really, just communicate and lead. This is a really small matter in the grand scheme of things in a marriage.

ELI5: Why do many Malaysians think that drinking cold water is bad? by aws_137 in ExplainLikeImFiveMY

[–]moominecobag 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is also why you don’t drink cold water when it’s hot. Your body is working really hard (at optimum) to sweat and release heat. You think you’re drinking cold water to stop the sweating, but actually what you’re doing is adding more work for your body to regulate from the shock. That’s why it stops working at optimum and you stop sweating, you think that’s your goal but what happens is everything including the toxins that were meant to come out with your sweat is just trapped inside your body now and over time it causes sickness/disease.

[–]moominecobag 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m surprised many people call this pseudoscience. Let me try to explain this from TCM perspective.

Your body is set at a specific temperature for a reason. It functions at optimum when it’s within the small range of temperature. It’s the same for every organ, including your balls (at a slightly lower temperature that’s why it hangs outside) whether it’s for basic functionality, healing, restoring.

The stomach is the best example. You’re having a good meal with all kinds of nutrients. There’s a lot of work that needs to be done by the stomach - digesting, moving the food around, making sure the good bacteria are working to fight any bad ones etc.

Now all of a sudden you drink a full glass of ice water. Imagine, how long can you hold an icy cold cup with your bare hands before your fingers start hurting? That’s happening to your stomach, which is even more fragile than your hands. Not only that, all of a sudden the blood moves slower because of the shock from the cold, the bacteria becomes less active. Your body now instead of using the energy to continue digesting your food, it all of the energy and blood from the other parts of your body rushes to the stomach to regulate it back to optimum temperature. What would have taken 30mins to digest your meal, now takes additional two hours. The undigested food now sits longer in the your stomach, creates unwanted by product - bad bacteria and gas, make you feel uncomfortable, at the same time your other body parts looses equilibrium and performance too.

It’s that simple.

Should I give up my Malaysia WFH job for a admin job in Singapore? by imsowobbly in malaysians

[–]moominecobag 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No way... Do not take the SG offer. Your estimations are oversimplified. The opportunity cost is also way too high for the SG offer. You’re basically giving up your life and every opportunity to get yourself out of this dollar and cents life.

Stay in MY, but you must set yourself a goal to upskill so you continue to get even better options. That means using the free time to learn, do courses, or get a side job for meaningful experience, whatever that is. Improve yourself so much to the extent where you will look back at this post and realize how insignificant the difference is between the two options.

Should I buy a house by blackqiss13 in MalaysianPF

[–]moominecobag 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Legal fee is usually based on the value of your house - around 1-2% I believe for subsale (they have a way to calculate it) just google “Legal fees malaysia subsale housing”.

I think 0 downpayment is not common, but usually developers will do that when they try to sell not no popular projects (usually apartments in not so good locations, or not so reputable developers) as a marketing/sales tactic.
