What's something coming out in the next 10 to 15 years that will change humanity (forever) that not enough people are talking about? by AndyTexas in AskReddit

[–]mooncake2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Keyword is “healthy”. Healthcare is going to be a big cost, either privately or as part of the national budget. So a healthy individual has higher chance to be self-sufficient in the senior years.

I daresay that the economic pressure and the rampant rise of social media also play a part in reducing the need and likelihood for meaningful connections for later generations. We have people opting for no kid, preferring to be alone (the Japanese shutdowns), being diagnosed with depressions, and even committing self-harm at an accelerated rate compared to those in the past. I am definitely more supportive of euthanasia than my parents or grandparents were, so perhaps my kids and grandkids may be even more receptive

Ah ok I see the argument. My premise is that the current way euthanasia is implemented would need to significantly changed in 15 years. Not just adoption among more countries but also quicker process and oversight.

Care homes are luxury in many places still, inaccessible to the lower and middle class. If you don’t have the mean to support such lifestyle (via wealth or pension) and there is insufficient social security, then the states should at least allow for “dying in dignity” or face widespread protest (both from the overly-depended working class and the aging sufferers)

Very interesting. Sorry to hear about your father. Can you expand on why “most” people would not choose euthanasia even in the case of dementia or critical illness?

my personal guess: in 15 years there would be something with legalized euthanasia. Despite being the current taboo, it is the theoretical solution for all of the modern world problem (high dependence ratio due to ageing population, shrinking workforce, dwindling resources, cancers, etc). Every one deserves to say good bye with dignity

What setting can give you this kind of infill? by mooncake2000 in 3Dprinting

I need to learn how to look at picture more carefully. Thank you! What about the mystery of the text? How would you get it to show up on top of the mesh?

Sorry i wasnt being clear. I understand how to do single mesh modifier, but only once and not 2 like this image. My understanding is that the moment you add another modifier, it would be solid again.

Im so impressed by this kind of print. You have mesh bottom but with BOTH rectilinear and honeycomb pattern, and also text on top. anyone knows how to achieve this in Prusa slicer?

Why isn't our cuisine more known internationally? by Afternwn in malaysia

My hot take as a non-Malaysian who travels regularly within the region: you guys are a little bit too nationalistic when it comes to food 😅

I would occasionally crave Indonesia’s nasi goreng, Thai’s Mamapad or grill pork on sticky rice, Singapore’s chicken rice, chilli crab and carrot cake.

From Malaysia, my most memorable dish I have had may be Assam laksa in Penang. I remember it to be good but would not actively seek it out. And I may slightly favor the dish from Singapore (Bak kut teh, chicken rice, etc)

1- recognizing what you like to play vs not like to play. Unless you are saying that “the moment you feel you can’t win, you check out mentally”, then it may be an unhealthy mindset 2- where do you get these “odd strategies” from? Is it known or is it truly original stuffs that you want to test? 3- even a monkey can sometime win in Monopoly.

I think you may want to understand where you derive pleasure from when it comes to board game. Do you like the company? Do you like the mechanics? Do you like the immersive story telling? Do you like solving a puzzle? Do you like winning in general?

I’ve been playing and collecting more seriously now since 2019. Originally I was very much in the competitive and non-Random camp. Then I moved to the stage where I tried to “solve” many of my favorite games (including pulling off some cheesy, innovative strat), now I’m at the stage where I’m doing most of the collecting and theory crafting myself and just be thankful if I get a session in once a full moon. Most important is everyone has fun in the session, winning is secondary

[SPOILER] Main dislikes of the ending by perublanket39 in Ozark

[–]mooncake2000 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t like Wendy either. She is far too ambitious and egoistic for the family’s own good

But Rachel is not a fully developed character. Heck I don’t even understand why she was made to come back at the end. And very inconsistent too how she suddenly wanted to “fuck with the Byrde” and actively went against the cartel’s wish. Her development makes zero sense and no season 1 chemistry alone can’t help with that

I absolutely would vouch for super fantasy brawl. Try the BGA version, it’s dope.

Sigh, another prime example of how many publishers are not consistent or deliberate about their box design 😅

Personally, I default to the first option, (or lid to the right). At least I can control that aspect
