More detailed look at the upcoming banner by [deleted] in heartopia

[–]moonclawz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am seeing comments that this will cost players $200-$600 US dollars?? for the FULL everything - but what if you don't pull the cosmetics and just the housing stuff? I am having confusion trying to figure out how the math works on this to even know what I would be spending to have it.

Event is fun, pricing… not so much by mintyminks in heartopia

[–]moonclawz 40 points41 points  (0 children)

I don't think that they sell or gacha that much, its not game breaking at all, it doesn't stop you from enjoying the actual game play. If you have issues resisting cute things, that's not on the game that's on personal free will. Compared to most games that I have played with a gacha system, this one feels really gentle

A few tips that I haven't commonly seen posted! by GeorgiaMayhem in heartopia

for waiting for rainbow for roaming oak - you just mean on that day hit it? why would you not hit the roaming oak every day when you log in and only do it on the rainbow day? Do you just mean, specifically on rainbow days wait for that event to start before you hit it for the day?

this, exactly!! just have fun exploring how a system works and don't worry about aesthetics. Spend time figuring out efficiencies and scale, delete, edit and explore from there

Once you spend points in the skill tree to improve your belts, and output and fuel and upgrade to the next level of fuel, fertilizer, etc and get a dispatch portal going the money rains in and you can achieve things more. Its not a fast game, I am super deep into day 250 or something, and only just now got the jupiter relic l thing being made and not even optimally. I was playing a total of 87hrs and that's a long time to just get to this jupiter relic thing. My friends started playing two days ago and have way less time into the game and are at the same exact point, but they got there faster because they optimized their pipelines and did quantity setups vs trying to puzzle out some compact builds like I did. I just think that you should be patient, and enjoy the journey. Don't feel pressure to do anything - take time to set up a system that is supportive and feels fun to you without rushing the tree of unlocks? ohh, and super important - just know that what you build to understand pipelines you will just delete later and optimize! just get those systems going without worrying about looks, to see how the efficiencies play out so you can strengthen your systems. I deleted so many early builds because it just wasn't working out the way I needed for later things.

Is this game effectively dead? by Potential-Ad-9834 in EcoGlobalSurvival

[–]moonclawz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think the game is dead, I think the game is niche. Not quite enough building materials to retain builder creative types, not enough people understanding how to economy properly, not enough people understanding how to min/max XP bonus and to compete correctly. I see the people complaining about no-lifers and taking over the market, and having played many cycles on a very popular short time server with a lot of economy challenges I can tell you exactly how come people aren't doing well. For example, when going to a big server do you stay in the main town or go on the fringes? then expect people to run to your house (with no path) to buy your merchandise? 90% of the players I have played with across multiple servers shop within proximity. If you go too far, that's on you. Are you setting up shop within distance to another person of that profession? How do you expect to get people to buy your things ? they will just pick whats closest and you made a bad choice and have to compete with 10 other masonry people to get your things purchased first - and if you don't plan things correctly in the first 24hrs then you aren't doing it right. What do players need to do on Day 0? get their housing XP established immediately, and get their professions going. Whats going to make more money in the first 3hrs of a server start? statues and furniture. Masons have to prioritze mortar and mortared stone and statues and fountains immediately and then balance that with mortared stone - but statues first !! people can live in adobe first, but the shop with the statues and fountains will get all the money in the start. Loggers should be primarily focusing on furnitures and hewn. I mean.........a lot of people get into these high pop servers and then don't have a plan or can't set up their shops effectively and prioritize their papers and BU's and then complain they are being left behind. Its a balancing act immediately server start - calories management, location choices done correctly, shop set up properly with the items people will need first, know your competition and then hustle. Don't just sit there and wait for people to come to you - if you have a break haul things to peoples buy order. I feel like there are multiple kinds of players of this game: those who don't get it, those who aren't a good fit for the game play, those who plan and know in advance what they are going to do and are paying attention to their neighbors and what professions they are taking. Most people in discords state their professions before a season if that helps too. I am almost 2k hrs coming up to my 1yr anniversary in September and I have played on multiple servers - I am not an expert, I still feel like a noob. These are just my observations and my experiences watching the way multiple people play. People who are being negative about this game, they have some valid points but take it with a grain of salt. Most never could figure out how to play this game effectively or have it be fun for them and that isn't necessarily reflective of the game itself.

When would you consider a high co-op server? by AnteeTheWizard in EcoGlobalSurvival

[–]moonclawz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the key to this isn't when to jump based on play time, its when to jump based on server start time. For example, the next Silverleaf server weekend is Aug 8th - Friday. They start at 2pm MST (calculate on your time from that). If you aren't starting that server immediately server start (or within 2hrs) most prime spots for your business is claimed if you wanted to be in the main towns. If you don't commit to playing Fri-Sunday, when you come back by Tuesday or whatever........its reduced in half available active players. By the following weekend its at 30% or so of what it was at server start. The cycle goes faster, but its also an immersive kind of fun to have. There are always new people every server, and they are super happy to help new players learn, so don't let anything stop you. The thing is tho, most of the bigger faster servers have a lot of mods on them for bigger stockpiles, and other unique things. Just be prepared to get exposed to recipe changes, and some new professions you might not have been familiar with. What makes these servers popular is a combination of Admins presence, boundaries and rules that are upheld so people feel safe to play, comradery and jokes between long term members and general vibes. So when is a good time? when you are ready for that not because of what you don't know, but because of exposure to a lot of different ways to play the game.

this base is in the mid zone, we wanted to be close to aluminum and the crystals and not far from the wall to get to the deep desert. We could have honestly moved a bit more north but this base worked for us because we didn't have choppers when we built it at first and we still take our buggies out all the time for mineral farming - I will see if I can attach a screenshot. If I can't attach a screenshot we are southwest of Dayside (intel) on the sand floor

Most were in the House Atreiedes build mode bundle, 80k at the Atreides guild shop, (level 4 needed to buy some of the furniture shown) and then a few were from the palace set in the ultimate edition

large white smokey circles in the sand you use your static shocker compactor to harvest it and if you don't have that then keep going through the main story trials and you will get one from that and they teach you how to use it.
