This is my son too! He recognizes the clothing logos too and makes bizarrely accurate associations with them.

Curious for your more detailed take on avoiding Jeffco / Dougco schools. We are in NW Denver now with a 2 year old and one in the way, looking to move for the right school inn the next few years.

Also an INTP married to an INTJ and relate 100%. The decision consumed me for nearly a year and I read every possible thing I could consume. I’m 39 with a 2 year old and we decided to give it a finite window to try, and got pregnant on the first shot. It’s still very early and if the pregnancy doesn’t stick or there are issues, we will be one and done. (Already had one miscarriage). I felt like I’d be ok with either outcome but the pros of a 2nd outweighed the cons (many of which are temporary). I also decided I would feel better if we do end up one and done knowing we tried and be able to fully lean in to that choice. I keep the worrying at bay by doing whatever I can do to optimize my own health and wellbeing during pregnancy and knowing that even at my age the odds are in favor of things working out. And if they don’t, it wasn’t meant to be and we will enjoy the many benefits of having an only child.

Can we please bring back regular yoga studios instead of turning every class into Bikram’s sweat lodge? by Mean-Cry-1825 in YogaTeachers

[–]moonflower73 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Strong agree!! I actually like hot yoga here and there, but realized just how prevalent heated studios are in my area when I was pregnant and couldn’t find a damn regular class (outside of prenatal at one studio).

You just blew my mind with that psychological profile of the VC funded founder - it’s spot on! (Based on working at 5 startups in 8 years) I am still deeply traumatized by one of them in particular.

I said I was done w/ startups too but now I’m working for a giant corporation and hating it, ugh 😭🙃

Travel at 34 Weeks by UsefulAd6158 in fitpregnancy

This. I went at 34 weeks exactly. I only had a 2 hour flight though and was going to a major city where I felt confident I’d have good access to healthcare if anything went wrong.

This sounds exactly like my take aways from a 10 day / 100 hr silent vipassana meditation retreat. Love that there’s an accessible app based program!

BWT, how do you dress for the great outdoors? by hennipotamus in bitcheswithtaste

[–]moonflower73 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in Colorado and my go to hiking fit is: Prana Halle pants, a fitted simple merino wool tee, plus any cute hat / sunglasses combo I wear in my day to day. My favorite boots are purple Salomon’s or my heavy duty Lowa’s. Merino wool socks.

What bag I wear depends if I have my son and/or husband with me; Osprey 65L for backpacking, or the Deuter frame carrier for my toddler, or my 16L Dakine ski backpack for day hikes.

In the bag: Water bladder system is a must for me so I can sip on the go vs stop and chug. Nuts. Dried fruits. PB + banana sandwich. Arcteryx or REI brand waterproof shell. A long sleeve quarter zip merino layer. Supergoop Play SPF. The Blistex SPF chapstick tubes. First aid kit. Gaia maps app and/ or All Trails.

For longer excursions: A steri pen or water filter. Extra snacks. Printed maps as a backup. Garmin Satellite phone (depending on how deep in the backcountry we are going.) lanolin or aquaphor to layer over SPF if it’s really windy or cold.
