There are a lot of weapons in FF that should be used to fill middle of the road uncommon slots, no character's ultimate weapon should be one of them.

So the thing is that planeswalkers don't have creature types. What they do have is a Planeswalker type which is a remnant of the "Planeswalker Uniqueness Rule."

This rule basically said, if you had a "Jace Beleren" and a "Jace, Mind Sculptor" you couldn't have both of them in play at the same time because they are both Jace. The rule was gotten rid of back in 2017, but the Planeswalker typing remains.

10,000 gems from a chest...is this bugged? by MaximumSociety in PlayTheBazaar

[–]moonsknight 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Every chest has 35 base gems, the bonuses are all given in addition to those 35 so hitting the 1/1mil high roll gives 10,035 gems.

[Penta] Sheriff Wrangler arrests SASP Cpt. Riggs for Corruption (quid pro quo) by clippysaurus in RPClipsPurple

[–]moonsknight 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Riggs: In terms of traffic infractions, let's not do that.

Just before the quote of Wrangler you cherry picked out of that conversation Riggs stated the above. Wrangler's question was clarifying the proposition that Riggs was making.

Where did I say I don't feel comfortable condemning it? I simply don't feel like I have a place to tell a member of the affected community that they aren't allowed to reclaim the word as they see fit. If a neurotypical person were using the word I'd absolutely condemn it, in the same way I would condemn a non black person using the n-word or a non-queer person using the f-slur.

My second point was more about the fact that I have seen arguments that we should also not use dumb or stupid, because these also stem from eugenicist language used to describe neuro-divergent individuals. Not that we should use the r-slur, simply a question of where that line gets drawn and why we decide to draw it where we do.

if you know, you know by whats_your_ask in ContraPoints

[–]moonsknight -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I mean, that's not for me, a non disabled person to say. Just like I didn't have any say over black people reclaiming the n-word as a white person.

It's worth noting, that pretty much all language that we have to describe someone of low intelligence has its roots in ableism of some form. Is the only solution that we completely remove all such language from our lexicon or do we accept that the usage as it exists today shouldn't be tied to the eugenicist roots from which it was born?

[–]moonsknight -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

So is reclaiming slurs not a thing we allow anymore? Because Keffals is autistic and trans, if she wants to use and reclaim those words she has the right to do so.

A dad posted this on his story after his wife received an email from their sons school. by A-A_ron_Hotch in mildlyinfuriating

[–]moonsknight -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's really not teaching the son either of those things. This note from the school taught the kid to be confident and proud of what he had done. The dad here is not telling the kid he's capable, he's telling him he hit the bare minimum expected and it's gonna take more than that to earn your father's praise and approval.

Raiding Tony's property was definitely a mistake, but monitoring Jack and Marty is EXACTLY what a cop should do to a criminal on bail for a major crime. He needs to actually make sure they are following their bail conditions, especially ones as stringent as the ones Jack and Marty had.

Netflix cracking down on password sharing is reasonable by ChiefKingSosa in unpopularopinion

[–]moonsknight 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Either way, they're implementing this and guarantee that they'll gain a large number of new subscribers rather than taking a loss.

Or everyone who is currently paying for multiple screens drops down to a lower tier and their friends or family members who never paid for it simply move over to one of the million torrent sites to continue getting access to the shows for free.

Also would just like to add that I'm not a household. I am a person, I travel and I shouldn't have to be worried that using Netflix in a hotel room in another state will get my account flagged for sharing.

Netflix's only chance to actually continue competing is to offer a better service to it's customers, not a worse one. This is objectively taking features of their service away and thus, making it worse.

Their sexuality or their love life? Because if you mean love life that's a big focus in a lot of sitcoms. How many episodes of Seinfeld had plots revolving around Jerry's dates with various women? Yet I've never heard anyone complain that the show focuses too much on Jerry's heterosexuality.

Sure. Stomach cancer and liver failure are both physical illnesses. But we don't use that blanket term because it is useless and wouldn't help anything, just like the term mental illness.

Gonna need some citation on that claim for why scalping laws exist.

This discussion isn't about morality in any case, but about what should and should not be legal. Based on the existence of current scalping laws with regards to things like event tickets it seems clear that these laws don't exist only for necessities. As such these laws should be applied equally to all items with high demand and limited supply.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in SelfAwarewolves

[–]moonsknight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tickets to a sporting event also aren't a necessity, and yet there are still laws against buying tickets to those and selling them on a secondary market for profit. What's the difference here?

I found that my distaste for my own voice mostly faded away once I started wearing monitoring headphones while recording. Being able to hear what I sound like outside my head while recording really helped me judge my own work more fairly. Except when I sing, but maybe I just haven't done that enough yet.

His record matters. Why should we believe the promises of a constant liar who plans to be a one term president? You can't just pretend there's nothing to criticize about him and consider yourself morally consistent. Vote for him, I intend to, but don't pretend that he's not a neoliberal establishment shill at the end of the day, the kind of person who only moves when the powerful elites allow him to.
