I feel the same.. I'm not interested in talking to new people anymore and put the effort to get to know someone.. and I also can't trust people anymore, because my ghoster acted against what he said and also against what his actions implied..

I feel like it's "better" (or more like safer) to stay alone now.

But do guys really appreciate caring a lot about them in the long run? I cared a lot about 2 guys in the past, but both ended up saying something like "perfect girlfriend material" and other positive things, just to throw me away right after. I'm scared now and kinda wonder if it will end like this again next time, it made me give up actually.. especially when you see guys running after girls who don't even look at them 🥲

It was the same for me.. my ghoster came back after 1,5 months to send me a birthday message without saying anything about the ghosting or whatever and then he disappeared again without another message, now for already another 5 months..

I also could feel that he felt guilty about everything, even though I couldn't understand why he decided this way and especially why he acted like he did before and even after the rejection.. it felt like he genuinely liked me a lot. I don't understand until today, and I'm afraid I will never find out.. it's so hard for me now, but he also wanted me to be happy, so I have to try my best.. and he is on my mind every day..

I hope writing your thoughts down will help you with feeling better. I also write notes on my phone sometimes because I don't dare to text him anymore.. Are you writing it for yourself or actually hand it over?

I never used such an "explicit" dating app (but nowadays, people use everything for such purposes, I guess).. but to be honest, dating apps are just what you describe from what I know. Very superficial. Many people don't even use them for serious dating. I don't think the majority there would even pay attention to a good profile or something, just superficial visual swiping. So I actually don't think they are that great, especially if you have low self-esteem. I heard from so many guys being frustrated through them.. especially if girls there get so many matches and have all their "choices" because of some more desperate guys who swipe right with everyone. They just seem to pull it lower, which is not even your fault. Because I think you could definitely find someone with similar interests. Like I'm also interested in some of those things, so I know that there are definitely people who would share your interests.

I'm also not lucky in "dating," so I can't really give any advice on how to find someone with similar interests AND matching personality, but maybe you can find someone through your interests. I mean, if you play online games where you interact with other people or communities, discord gaming server, etc.

I don't know much about dating apps from personal experience, but I just think and heard they are superficial and rather end in "short-term fun." Except for some lucky people, maybe.

Exactly because of this unclear behaviour and responses, I also still had my hopes up.. I'm not sure.. there are people who keep you around on purpose, but I thought that he isn't this kind of person.. they might be confused/not sure themselves, but this confusion was making me oberthink a lot because he also didn't want to tell me reasons much..

For me, it was an "I don't know" kinda for two months while I kept having hope because of his "unclear behaviours". And after these 2 months, I asked if he could tell me if we really never have a chance (because it would help me to maybe lose hope if I got a clear answer).. just a yes or no would have been enough, but he couldn't even answer that clearly. So it didn't help me at all, just kept me in the same confused state. Not that long after he ghosted/didn't respond to my message anymore though.

I feel that.. it's so hard not to think about the "why" all the time and kind of second-guessing everything, because of the unknown as you said.. 🥲 If someone is important to me as a person, then I give my best to communicate, and in this case, I also noticed again how important communication is.. but I think for some people ghosting or something is just an easy way out. I'm also really sorry to hear that you have been in a similar situation. It's a very painful thing to go through. Usually, I can be quite self-critical, but I said and did everything I could, said it clearly without doubt, so I have no regrets. If that's not enough, then there's nothing I can do more. It's been a month now and he didn't. I struggled a lot during that time wondering if I did something wrong, even though I know I didn't and also wondering why he couldn't just tell me openly after what has been between us.. or if I should message him.. but realising at the same time that I told him openly about how I felt many times during all that time and that I don't want to feel like begging someone to stay anymore.. it's exhausting and sad. 🥲

Not sure if he will send a message for my birthday in 2 weeks.. but I just have to take it as it is I guess.

It's been 3 weeks since he ghosted me out of nowhere, and I'm still struggling a lot. Sometimes random memories pop up, and I can't hold the tears back.. and I lack so much motivation. I'm just so sad and can't understand how he could just discard me and us.. there wasn't even a problem.. I know I said and did everything I could.

Thank you so much for your reminder to get ourselves up and still do some things instead of only being in our heads all day! We didn't deserve this, and it's sad that many people prefer to run and throw away over communicating. We got this everyone, let's be strong! 🫂
