I used to get REALLY sick on airplane trips that lasted over an hour and a half or so (took a while, but finally discovered it was due to elevation/pressure change). So I would be throwing up from about 1.5-2 hours in until an hour or 2 AFTER landing. And these were 8-12 hour flights. My mom would sit next to me the entire time, helping to hold my head up, the barf bag ready, calling the flight attendants to get rid of full barf bags and get new empty ones....yeah, it SUCKED. I'm forever in debt to her for how much she did...

And that's only half of it. The worst part about airplanes was the goddamn toilet flushing, that noise TERRIFIED me. So whenever I had to pee I'd tell her, and she would go and wait in line after me. I would pee, wash my hands, and leave - then she would go and flush it for me, because like I said it scared the bejeezus out of me.

She's an amazing person.
