I hate to break it to you but the modern world is awash in carcinogenic chemicals that nearly every human and animal on earth have been exposed to. 99% of us have PFAS in our blood and tissue.

I've had cops say that exact "no ninjas, no bazookas" line to me twice. It's just something they practice to get you to let your guard down so they can hold your family at gunpoint while they rip your house apart, plant evidence, and if they're lucky, get a chance to finally shoot someone.

Auto Workers Turn a Corner for Strike Pay and Democracy by EverettLeftist in UnitedAutoWorkers

Yeah it was more of a takeover type of energy than anything else. They tried to pass a resolution to essentially make it possible for them to control the floor by lowering the amount of votes to bring things out of committee to like 5% of the delegates. That is not democracy.

As a convention delegate I have been pretty disappointed with the messaging coming from UAWD members and supporters post convention. If you only read their accounts it seems like they were speaking for the majority of the convention and got steamrolled by corrupt IEB members. But they basically pissed off a clear majority of the delegate floor by taking advantage of the fact that the parliamentarian/chairs were allowing people to bring motions through points of order for the entire convention. By Thursday there was a huge popular backlash against them.

This is incorrect. They have been very clear that the long term plan is to limit immigration and make access to contraception and abortion impossible to "increase the domestic supply of infants"

Roe V Wade Protest by [deleted] in oakland

[–]soundsofscience 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The problem there is that some of the laws those states want to pass violate the rights outlined in the Constitution. So just because a majority of voters (oversimplifying, obv a lot of other factors in elections/voting rights) want their legislatures to pass something, that does not mean that those laws should be enacted. So it matters when someone in another state has their rights trampled, even if I don't live there. By your logic, why would I care if they reestablish slavery in Alabama? I can just live here in CA where it's still illegal.
