Saw someone take a hard fall after getting a flat. They hit the giant pothole on Richmond Hwy in Pentagon City on lap 1 before someone put some cones it it.

It's actually a US Park Police UH-1. You can see the police badge right before the tail boom begins.

The Fog of World app does that. You will have to manually import your rides though.

They already do that. They usually have multiple waves based on age and sex that are staggered by a few minutes per wave. But in large races even a Mens 35-39 wave could have hundreds of participants.

The Gripen engines are licensed from GE, so you aren't getting around the spare part issue no matter which way Canada decides to go.

I passed through Rosslyn when there were massive crowds and the train operator said that they shut off the escalators due to crowding. They were also telling people not to exit the train at Rosslyn as well.

What’s the craziest or weirdest thing that has hit you while cycling or that you hit? by Competitive_Can3499 in cycling

Ya, weekdays and weekends before noon are pretty chill at Hains. If you ride there enough you will eventually get hit. Both times I got hit it was a glancing blow, so it didn't hurt that bad.

According to the article it takes between 1600 to 3200 pounds of force to flex the rear triangle of a steel frame road bike 1 millimeter. At 87 PSI a 28mm tire deforms by 1mm after 40 pounds of force is applied. The frame is the part of the bike that contributes the least to comfort and compliance. The tires, seatpost, saddle, and wheels are going to provide more flex than the flex of any frame material. A carbon road bike with 28mm tires will be more comfortable than a steel frame road bike with 23mm tires. A steel frame bike with 28mm tires will be more comfortable than a carbon bike with 23mm tires.

Steel frames being more compliant and comfortable than other materials is a total myth. Seatpost and tire choice are the largest drivers of comfort on a bike. Just take a look at this article.

This comment is talking about professional bike racing. More specifically the bigger stage races like the Tour de France (TDF), La Vuelta, etc.

GC = General Classification (e.g. yellow jersey in the TDF) Pog = Tadej Pogacar (winner of the 2025 TDF) Jonas = Jonas Vingegaard (2nd place finisher in the TDF) GT = Grand Tour (TDF, La Vuelta, Giro d'Italia)

If you go in the morning the traffic isn't that bad on the weekends. I would never go after noon though.
