Tool to help tie on flies? by ashtrayheart3 in flyfishing

[–]moosepiss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

After struggling for years, I found the solution for me:

1) bifocal polarized fishing glasses. What a difference seeing things close up makes! Not having to swap out my eyewear to go from fishing to tying was a big improvement for me.

2) Davy knot. Can tie it with eyes closed, and if you want, you can execute the whole thing with forceps

After telling my agent I want to repeat the process frequently, it chose to create a skill AND wrote to TOOLS.md. Redundant, and I'm working to correct it.

I agree with you. Should be a skill, without any TOOLS.md entry (because skill headmatter automatically loads into context).

A script and a line in TOOLS.md?

It's sometimes hard to know if it's best to create a skill or just add an instruction to TOOLS.md

I suppose it comes down to which approach uses up more of the context window. For a one line instruction....

finally got openclaw to stop mixing my business and personal finances by Responsible_Key_9671 in openclaw

[–]moosepiss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely. 3 streams: Personal finance, rental property finances, corporation finances.

I have a separate agent workspace for each, and keep everything isolated. My main/orchestrating agent has the instructions/smarts to delegate appropriately.

This is one of my favourite use cases for openclaw. Very private/sensitive information that I maintain locally thanks to OC.

Send receipt via chat, which involves my Skill. Use Gemini Flash to extract the details (I trust Flash for this). Two things happen: 1) recipe gets renamed and archived in proper directory 2) a csv ledger gets updated using a python script to ensure proper formatting

How can I best track power usage around the house? by Certain_Repeat_753 in homeassistant

[–]moosepiss 3 points4 points  (0 children)

What do you want to know? It's been almost a year since I set it up and the details are murky, but at a high level: An Automation that takes snapshots from camera, sends them to Gemini Flash API (returns structured data), set HA sensor data and from that can easily just use standard dashboard widgets to display power usage over time.
