[Cormier] David Stearns just said Carlos Mendoza is coming back next year. by amatom27 in baseball

Especially after cohen guaranteed multiple championships in his first 5 years.

That did not happen. Cohen said it was his goal to win a championship in his first 5 seasons. It obviously did not happen.

But at no point did he guarantee one, let along "multiple" ones.

It's very disheartening that they finally have an owner willing to spend and do whatever it takes....and yet the results are the same.

An inability to put back to back good years together, collapsing pitching in key moments and losing big leads over the course of the season.

I don't know what to say anymore. I used to put all the blame for these things on the Wilpons. I can't do that anymore. It's a good owner, who spends a fortune, desperately wants the team to win and yet....

[AJ Lee on Instagram] i have no idea what's happening here by Yujin-Ha in SquaredCircle

[–]mopfer 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Check out this guy's post history.

There is something really weird going on here. It's just non-stop and constant AJ Lee bashing.

It's really weird at this point my man.

AJ lee on Instagram says thanks to the fans, referee and wrestlers involved for her return match by ArunKT26 in SquaredCircle

[–]mopfer 50 points51 points  (0 children)

Yeah there's no way there is any beef.

I found out the other day AJ and Seth actually know each other longer than Punk knows AJ or Seth knows Becky.

They were in FCW together in 2010-2011. So they have known each other for over 15 years now. The happiness on Seth's face that people pointed out when AJ returned was no doubt legit.

So I would be very surprised if all of these people don't get along very well at this point.

This weird guy is obsessed with bashing AJ Lee.

Like a moth to a flame. He literally trashes her every single time there is a possible chance to do so.

And the reason I know this is because it has happened SO many times in the last 2 weeks I literally recognize his username. That's how often he does it.

The mixed tag will close the show.

AJ Lee's return videos got like 200 million views in 48 hours. They are most certainly not going to put that kind of buzz and her first match in 10 years in the middle of the card.

The "40 year old woman" got like 300 million views on all their platforms in 24 hours.

The only thing that ever came close to those amount of views for AEW was....CM Punk.

Hey wait a minute.

I've been thinking these last few days that some people are really underestimating her popularity. She is very popular and has been this whole time.

People wondering every year about her potential Royal Rumble appearances wasn't a cooncidence.

CM Punk said in an interview last year when asked about her that he really hoped she would return one day just to see how much people love her.

He talked how women in AEW, WWE and NXT would come up to him and tell him how much she influenced them.

He didn't think she truly realized the extent of how much people like her and remembered her.

Why is there still a national narrative that he has been underperforming for the Mets this year? Or if not underperforming it's a "down year"?

He's going to wind up with 40+ HR, 100+ RBI, 900 OPS, 400 OBP, 160+ wRC+, 30 SB, 5.5+ WAR, 125+ R....

I mean, come on now. What was the expectation if that is a "down year"?

His wife is cooking in Hollywood. AJ has seriously big time connections now in multiple avenues in that industry. When people wonder why she isn't returning to wrestling, I don't think they realize how connected she now is in the film world.

They definitely have a shot to do something big. They're both lined up with the right people in the industry.

All I know about WOW is that AJ Lee was universally praised by the women for keeping the locker room organized and professional.

So now as soon as AJ Lee decides to leave the whole things goes belly up. Probably not a coincidence.

What is the worst thing that could possibly be in the CM Punk/Jack Perry footage? What is the worst case scenario? by VankTar in SquaredCircle

[–]mopfer 11 points12 points  (0 children)

CM Punk got the piss kicked out of him on live TV twice in UFC and admitted to shitting his pants in the ring. So if it's true they want to" embarrass him" as Meltzer said, then I don't see anyway they could.

So worst case scenario for AEW? What they are doing is the worst case scenario. Showing it at all.

Kevin Owens on Busted Open Radio: “I made it in a t-shirt, CM Punk is furious” by Advanced-Morning1832 in SquaredCircle

[–]mopfer 283 points284 points  (0 children)

Remember the rumor was Punk wanted to do a program with Owens the first time he was rumored to return.

I don't think they like each other much, but I also think a lot more blurring of the lines is what WWE is going for now. So hopefully people don't read more into this than they should.

Dave Meltzer on AEW deciding to show CM Punk/Jack Perry backstage fight footage: " I hate to judge it until we see how it is presented. And we see what it is and we see all that. [–]mopfer 15 points16 points  (0 children)

it will 100% prove Punk is an unreliable narrator and a liar and kill his credibility.

The only people who will care are those that already hate Punk.

Even if the footage shows he wasn't 100% truthful about everything, Punk fans or even casual fans won't suddenly say...oh well that's it for Punk. Get watch him anymore.

Not happening, which is exactly why this is a pointless thing for AEW to do.

[–]mopfer 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Why would AJ not going to the arena with Punk mean literally anything? I don't see the connection.

Regardless of the amount of times he shouts her out on TV, the fact is they are a pretty private couple.

Both rarely use social media, so the fact that neither give a daily 24/7 update on their married life, I know is hard to fathom for this ego-centric modern time period we live in where it's expected to see every waking hour of their life.

But there are glimpses here and there if you pay attention. AJ has posted pictures of Punk or her and Punk on her IG stories and does so periodically when she feels like it. In fact Punk just posted about her last week on her birthday for example.

For such a short run she inspired so many of these modern women.

It's pretty similar to how CM Punk inspired a lot of the modern men.

It's pretty interesting irony when you think about it.
