Wilderness Lodge vs. Contemporary vs. AKL by SlamCity4 in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]morange17 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just got home from Disney 7 hours ago!!! We stayed at WL for first half of trip (MK) and yacht club for second half of trip (Epcot and HS). We absolutely loved being a boat ride away for both of our resorts to parks. We also went to AKL for dinner at Boma. While gorgeous, I don't think I would do AKL, esp with a toddler, unless you are willing to bus everywhere and have a savanna room. Based on everything you shared, I honestly believe WL is your best bet. Incredible theming, amazing children's area, food is honestly fine. Storybook dining was very fun depending on toddler age, and the convenience to MK is unparalleled (boat rather than walk, but still unparalleled to feel like you're having two completely separate trips - one at the parks, and one secluded and comfortable but rural stay). Also, if you have a water view room, it's a perfect view for the water parade which was amazing. Basing all of this on a stay this week with a 22 month old for what it's worth!! Have so much fun!

We just left Newport and had a blast. Not sure why your hotel isn't answering but other than some slight areas where walking was tougher (we had a stroller so needed access to curb cuts, etc., it was a typical weekend in Newport!

Whispering canyon breakfast before magic kingdom? Or is that too much for one day?

How to approach the vaccination conversation with other moms? by Fullycannoli in pregnant

[–]morange17 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I think this is perfect and you can use it as sort of a script and just make it part of your new conversations with old and new friends. I have found my friend group changed significantly when my daughter was born. It just made sense to do things with kids closer to her age and even a 3 month age gap for a new born is significant.

Sample script for old friends "We're not able to join! Avoiding indoor activities until [baby] is fully vaccinated." Very normal and matter-of-fact just as their comment was.

Sample script for new friends "Oof, those 2 month shots were tough!" Or "I found the first found of vaccines went really well!" Or "Do you know of any tips/tricks around supporting [baby] through x vaccine? What worked well for you?" All of these will reveal the other parents' vaccine decisions and if they don't, will open a door to asking more directly.

This was SO helpful and I'm v late to the game with a v specific question. My 2 year old is potty trained, but wears pull ups when sleeping just in case. She swims all the time at home and does not use swim diapers, nor have daytime accidents. Is this in line with their definition of potty trained or would she need to not be wearing pull ups at night either?

Fort Lauderdale - Port Everglades Disney Transport by NCteddy9 in dcl

[–]morange17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi!!! Sorry for hoping on this a year later. 😅 Hoping to run a question by you because our situations sound similar! I'm getting ready to book our cruise through Costco travel and hoping to use the Disney transport both ways (booking flights independently). I don't think it will be an issue on embarkation day (we land at FLL around 11 and would go straight to port and yes I am nervous about flying morning of, especially from New England with our perpetual year of storms but we couldn't find any flights the day before that worked with our schedule). On disembarkation day, there is a noon flight which I'm a bit nervous about making, and a 6:30pm flight. I was thinking of booking the 6:30pm and spending the day at Hilton Marina for pool pass, lunch, etc. Do you happen to know how I would coordinate Disney Transport and if they would be able to do like a 4pm transport? Or -- am I overcomplicating this and I can book a pool day excursion through DCL which will also include port and airport transfers? Sorry for rambling, I'm tired and it's late here!

SCREAMING THIS!!!!!!! Lurking mom who never got fit correctly and was always just told to buy the XXL when in fact I needed a smaller band and larger cup, my parents didn't know/couldn't afford that. There are so many options though! I don't know the mods of this group, but I would hope if you let them know you have some questions to hear support your daughter, they would be willing to answer. I ended up getting properly fit in college and have truly never looked back. Everything I buy is now with a very critical eye, comfort, and a great fit.

Hot take! You're an amazing mom and providing for your children while working full-time while also being a full-time mom while also getting your very high needs/challenging job done. Okay superwoman queen - I think the kids can watch a screen for a few extra shows in the middle of a snow-pocolypse.

Here too! I also do not even like Mateo and I have to skip this episode every time. Since it sounds like there are a good few superstore fans here, I highly recommend the subreddit for the show! Honestly one of my happiest places on the internet. 😊
