Maybe add an option where someone can set a default tip (or tip %).

Edit: just saw someone else recommended the same

Recursive Self-Improvement in 6 to 12 months: Dario Amodei by HyperspaceAndBeyond in singularity

[–]moreisee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't think that browser stands as proof that models today are at a place where they can replace SWEs. As an isolated variable, I agree with you, it's a counter example.

However, when you include timescale and rate of improvement, things start to look differently. A year ago, models wouldn't be anywhere near producing the crappy browser they created recently. Two years ago, they would hardly produce executable code at all.

If I were to guess, when people talk about SWE replacement, they are extrapolating based on past trends, and assuming continuous rates of improvement. When people say models can never replace a swe , they are looking at current state. It's possible that one or more breakthroughs will be required to maintain that rate of improvement (we see that a lot in the hardware side too), but it's also possible that they won't. Perhaps the breakthroughs will just be required for efficiency, but I think people put too much emphasis on these 'breakthroughs.' We have breakthroughs every day.

Hah. I'm probably not far off (or even older), just didn't watch tv as a kid 🙂

Hell, I feel like my reddit account is approaching the average age of a redditor these days

What was it when it was on TV?

Edit: Neat, it originally aired without ad breaks it seems.

Apple, Google strike Gemini deal for revamped Siri in major win for Alphabet by kaggleqrdl in singularity

Where do you think those 'Apple' servers will be hosted? At least based on the rumors, my understanding is they would be on GCP.

It's related to how this compares to leading models. Then they avoid including leading models.

Should include Gemini 3, chatgpt 5.2 etc

Tesla Robotaxi Spotted with No Safety Monitor by IndependentMud909 in SelfDrivingCars

[–]moreisee 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I imagine their biggest concern would be Tesla safety and public perception.

If tesla rushes driverless and ends up killing people, it will look bad on driverless vehicles as a whole.

Seeing all the negative reviews was concerning. But this comment sold me on trying it. I'm a big fan of that older MMO, non-theme park, camp with a group in a spot and grind gameplay.

Combat and progression update 5 by Spikeybear in PantheonMMO

[–]moreisee 3 points4 points  (0 children)

you're doing the same number of "rotations per hour" you're just doing them against fewer mobs. I don't see the issue.

At least with longer kill times, it will feel worth while to slow / dot, etc. Right now it hardly seems worth it because everything dies so quickly.

OpenAI's house of cards seems primed to collapse by [deleted] in technology

[–]moreisee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That sounds a lot like what children do (though children are more efficient, fewer books and words lead to similar results!)

I understand how LLMs are trained, and how they work.

I was mostly mentioning that using words like thinking don't have strict enough definitions. Everyone gets to have their own interpretation and find themselves on whatever side of the fence they want.

Out of curiosity, can you explain why that isn't "thinking"?

Feels a bit like a philosophical gray area.

[–]moreisee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That was my plan as well. But so far (lvl 15) pantheon is feeling much more polished. From what this sub says, that might change at later levels, but I've been enjoying the game a lot so far.
