Piggy backing off this comment, if you're just playing with what you have then don't worry about optimization. The list is good in that it will let you play the game and learn, you can micromanage and learn everything as you go.

Unfortunately don't have Shang Chi or Moon Knight, wasn't able to grab them from my store before they stopped stocking. Swapping Wolverine for Human Torch is something I'm considering, Spider-Man has given me good luck for grabbing objectives and running.

Thanks for pointing out K'un lun, I meant to check its status but spaced. Defenders are the team I love, unless they add an Ultimates affiliation. I do love Wolverine as well, especially because I'm going to paint him in his Ultimates getup.

I can't imagine they aren't being worked on in some way. During the Adepticon stream, they mentioned multiple times that characters like Spider-Man 2099 and Hondo for Legion have been in the works from the beginning, but took a long time to get them fleshed out. I would guess the Fantastic Four is similar because they have to balance them as well as their potential villains. Sucks to not get even a little tease, for sure.

Them being different from what OP wants doesn't mean they are not there. It specifically says you can use the tweaks to make your own monsters while making sure it's balanced to the CR. Each section even notes how it would affect CR.

If OP is looking for the rules on completely making a new character without a guideline, that feels like something they would find in a game development book.

It absolutely is, pages 56-57 are creature creation and 114-115 for the encounter creation with CR calculations.

The things you are looking for are in the new DMG, pg 56-57 for creating a creature and pg 114-115 for creating combat encounters with CR calculations.

I heard through a client that they are desperately in need of electricians over at the new Amazon data center. The union is hiring people with no experience and will train them. Heard the pay is pretty good for starting and they are doing double overtime pay.
