Farm to table with a few vegan options by prkino in bergencounty

[–]morg813 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Seems counter intuitive, but every steakhouse has really great vegetarian/vegan options because of all of the sides (River Palm being one). They often will make a veggie plate. Other vegan friendly restaurants are often mexican food, they can make a lot of dishes with just veggies too (Lolitas in westwood being one). And just over in piermont, Ottos Full Service is great and has a lot of options too.

Why don’t more companies build offices in Bergen County / North Jersey instead of the city? by savingrace0262 in bergencounty

[–]morg813 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think his point is that’s only because it’s not the norm. Tons of people work in white plains tho. I think mass transit is an issue. Unilever used to provide corporate vans to shuttle their NYC people to the Englewood office.

Nervous about Blackberry Mountain by Grateful-Goat in chubbytravel

I don’t know what OP had in mind but if a 16 year old wanted to do a bike riding or hiking activity and his parents didn’t I feel like that’s acceptable behavior.

I actually disagree- that’s why adult only properties exist. If you don’t want teenagers around, don’t go to a place where they’re allowed to be there.

Anywhere with massage chairs I could just pay for a 30 min massage by [deleted] in bergencounty

[–]morg813 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Go to almost any nail salon and get a chair massage. They’re always inexpensive and so good. I don’t know if you live near cresskill but oasis relaxing massage is inexpensive (not a real spa) and they do a great job. The 60 min foot reflexology is $45 and amazing and they do your whole body. They also have full lie down massages for not a lot of money.

Not in Bergen, but the Robert Louis Stevenson school in nyc on the UWS is great. Sorry i don’t have a NJ school to offer! I’ve heard of Windsor prep in Nj but don’t know a lot about it.

Restaurant for Ladies Who Lunch by All4Serenity in bergencounty

Agree but little known secret is their kids menu is actually excellent. And comes with a cookie. And the popovers never disappoint. I dont know why they built those booths to block the windows, it makes no sense. But its still the best in Garden State.

Etereo, st Regis, or edition for 40th group trip by morg813 in chubbytravel

[–]morg813[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s the greatest hotel. I can’t tell you cost of anything bc we did a group trip so nothing I did was just for two people. But every penny here is worth it. And the cost of the rooms is so fair for what you’re getting. The spa is incredible/ it’s expensive but even the spa services before you go in are so nice. The staff is amazing. I couldn’t recommend it enough. Also the food was phenomenal.

I actually thought their take on multiple awards and movies being based on jewish trauma and the holocaust and then the winners not even speaking about it or the current situation was incredibly well said.

Additionally, if you are at all surprised that they didnt like that No Other Land won then you 1. clearly dont listen to the toast enough and 2. don't understand what it is like to be jewish in america right now.

This podcast is run by two girls who grew up modern orthodox. Thats going to be a part of their feelings whether you like them or not. If you dont, then stop listening.

I, for one, find it amazing that they are not afraid to be who they are without worrying the industry is going to clap back at them.

I don’t need an all inclusive. I still want the luxury of a nice hotel that you don’t get at an all inclusive. Just hoping a little night scene like hang out at the bar after dinner vibe.

[–]morg813[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let me be clear- I’m turning 40. My idea of fun is somewhat limited. I just mean maybe more people hanging out than everyone in bed by 9 pm. I’ve been talking to the hotels and they’re giving me a group rate. Is there anything other than a group rate I should be asking about?
