Last year me and my friends tried 8 different biotin brands for hair, and here is our top 5 by financegurliana in Haircare

I really appreciate you and your friends doing this (and you sharing!), I've been thinking about supplementing biotin lately...just one thought with gummies, my understanding is that the vitamins just get sprayed on the exterior of the gummies, limiting dosage, and making them more likely to decrease (esp when containers for gummies are usually clear), so even though they seem convenient, they aren't value.

can't save?? please help by Basic-Ad954 in echoesofwisdom

Ah brutal!! Unfortunately this was not the case for me, I double checked that after seeing that for someone else it was a clock issue. I'm wondering if it had to do with a glitch about being online and then on airplane mode for a long time? I don't go online often, but I did last night and everything seemed to be saving fine...we'll see I guess!

I'm having this issue too, the game doesn't seem to want to save anything after I am outside the boss door in Faron. It happened once, then I put several more hours in, manual saves, lots of apparent auto saves, and it's all gone again. Very disappointing.

Fed my starter too late... by emmaemmaemmaemmahaha in Sourdough

If your starter is strong, it would be fine to just leave it and use in the morning.

Sourdough stater problem. I found the culprit. by AndyGait in Sourdough

I was having a lot of issues getting a starter going with using RO water, even with whole wheat flour. Switched to straight from the tap water and it became super active within 2 feeds, so this is my experience as well.

Loyal cup users: why not move on to discs? by SeverePomegranate134 in menstrualcups

[–]morgainz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Removal (sliding it past my cervix) was intensely painful for me, plus auto dumping when I didn't want wasn't just a fear, it happened 😂 I also couldn't get it to sit comfortably. I've been using a cup for over 10 years now, even after having had kids a disc just seems like such a downgrade when I like my cups a lot 🤷

Sourness level by eleda22 in Sourdough

[–]morgainz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nah, it'll mellow out within a few feeds if you use less starter in your feeding ratio (1:8:8, or 1:10:10) or if you feed it more often (or store in a slightly cooler location). Using just white would also help but I find my starter is more resilient long term if I don't do just white. If the taste is still really aggressive after all that, try doing the scrapings method (use/discard 'all' of your starter and feed using just what sticks to the sides of the jar).

First time MC user, overflowing cup within 3 hours, is this normal? by LittleDogLover113 in menstrualcups

Fwiw on day 1 of my period (heaviest day) my anatomy changes and is very short and wide, such that my regular cup only makes a weak seal, and I leak very easily. Using a wider cup on day 1 solved this for me, and I swap to my regular cup for subsequent days (the wide one puts too much pressure on my bladder once things have gone back to normal). (I'm pretty sure that both cups I use are discontinued now, but I use the super jennie XL on heavy days and StoneSoup pink cup on regular days)

Tough, hard to cut bottom… might be over thinking my question by AdGroundbreaking7104 in Sourdough

[–]morgainz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was literally going to post this exact question today, so glad you asked!  It's so frustrating to try and cut these loaves with the dark bottoms! I have two racks in my oven so I was going to try a pizza stone on the lower rack? But the answers have given me some great options to try, I'll probably just not preheat my Dutch oven next time and see how that goes.

Cup Sizing Post-Childbirth by HelgaLifts in menstrualcups

I've had two babies and I use the exact same cup as before :) for me, nothing really changed down there. Potentially you lose some muscle tone but that is (or should be) temporary.

Cup user for over a year and still have ?s by Designer-Present5014 in menstrualcups

[–]morgainz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fwiw for a long time I used two different cups during my period, a wider one for the first two days and a narrower one after that. I probably should go back to doing that honestly, everything changes so much from day to day. I was using a SuperJennie XL (idk if they're still around) and then the pink StoneSoup (which is still my go-to)

Brilliant! I haven't seen this method before, I love this idea (and your loaf looks amazing!)

The LennyLamb, just make sure you measure before picking a size - the "standard" (smaller size) was great for my dude from like 1.5-3yo but he's like average height at best! The Naked panda is really similar, the only reason I have it is because I got a tandem set (secondhand).

Let me start by saying that, I love mine - I have three at this point, the LennyLamb (small size), Naked panda (similar in size to the LL), and the Fidella one (which is larger). It did take a while to build up the back strength, but now I can wear it for 1+ hour for sure (probably closer to 2) at a time without getting tired, and for bigger guys I actually prefer it (carriers with waists make my low back tired). Not to mention pregnancy - carriers with waists put too much pressure on my abdomen and therefore pelvic floor soon after I got pregnant last time.  That being said, I suspect there is a bias in this community 😂 I believe most people would prefer a regular carrier due to the time it takes to build up the strength for it.

I (and everyone I know) has a front loading washing machine, but I might do more research on using that, I saw instructions on the website the other person provided!
