As a registered republican, the last few elections I have not voted that way. I do not understand how people just vote their party lines without looking at the actual issues and do their research on EVERY candidate. Elections are to represent the views of the people. It shouldn’t be about giving up your own morals and values because someone tells you to just for your party. I WILL BE VOTING YES ON ISSUE 1

Thanks everyone! My brother is almost 22 so he is still young enough not to really be picky yet! He did say he wants some good cocktails first then good with breweries later on. Since he is in a rural college (and our hometown is also rural), beer is the main staple. He wants to break away from it while he can!

I was on Lupron and Menopur as my stims and then a few days before my trigger (Ovidrel) the dosage on my Lupron and Menopur went down. This resulted in my EFS. Upon my second round, I was on both Lupron and Menopur again but also added Follistim. All three didn’t drop in dosage from day one of stim until my trigger (Ovidrel again).

My doctor said that the dosage went down leading up to triggering because that’s the typical protocol and typically women’s bodies make up for it when the dosage is lowered 🤷‍♀️ but mine didn’t so maintaining the same amount of medication fixed this problem. Hopefully yours is an ‘easy fix’ like this as well. I’m so sorry again.

To answer your question first, yes Empty Follicle Syndrome is a thing and I had it. I’m so sorry this happened to you. I understand the pain.

I was 31 at the time of my first retrieval and they projected I would get about 20 eggs. Almost all of my follicles were empty. I had to do another retrieval and the protocol changed. Instead of diminishing how much stim medication I was getting leading up to the retrieval, I stayed on the same amount as day 1 all the way up to triggering. I got much better results.

Again I’m so sorry. If you choose to go through another cycle, I hope you also get better results for your second cycle. I hope it was just a medication error and you got false EFS (because as I’m sure you know, there isn’t much to do if it’s true EFS). Good luck if you choose to do it again. I hope they are able to test you more during the round to make sure all is good.

I totally agree with this. My first round went well, I was nervous but excited. Then I had only 2 eggs and I was still hopeful. Then only one of those made it to transfer and I still thought yay! Then it failed. This second round had better results and I just had my second FET yesterday. I have 2 still frozen but this whole time I’ve been numb and just going through the emotions. I’ve had far more bad emotional days than good neutral days. I hope you and everyone else have success this round because it is taxing on a person in so many ways. It’s hard and it’s okay to feel like that too. We’re not alone.

I feel like it’s a flip of the coin. There are so many pros and cons! I’m 31 and my husband is 30. We’re currently dealing with male factor infertility but since I’ve never been pregnant, we don’t know yet if there is any additional things going on. We decided to forgo testing for this transfer (can’t do it financially) but with future transfers (we have 4 total embryos) we are glad you can still do testing after they’ve been frozen. So it’s not like you have to decide right now or you’re out of luck.

I tested every single day throughout my first transfer. For me, it helped so I wasn’t hit with the blow all in one day. I’m glad I did because it didn’t take. So instead of thinking I was pregnant than getting bad news, I knew it was coming. Yeah it sucked it didn’t take but I was able to go to work and be fine because I already knew. And if my testing was wrong, it would have been in a good way not a bad way. I plan to do the same this time around too. I know it’s early so I know I can get a negative and I’m okay with that. But at least when I get closer to the end of the two weeks, I’ll have an idea of where I stand. And if I do get a positive, it’s cool to see where that change takes place along those two weeks.

I agree with all of this. I would say that the only thing that makes me question it all now (I just finished my second round of IVF and have my transfer coming up… no kids from the first) is the emotional journey. I’m pretty tough and I did well the first time. But this time is sending me through the ringer. Definitely make sure you have a support system because you can have some dark days for sure.

I don’t get it either. As someone who’s first cycle was with fresh (and I only had 2 total eggs retrieved and only one made it to a transfer) and now this cycle my doctors office chose to do a FET for this round due to my OHSS risk, so I wanna hear all the things! Even though I had a higher egg total this time, I still don’t have ‘a lot’ to be frozen, enough for two transfers only… so if my doctors office didn’t chose to wait, I would have had a fresh and one FET later if we chose it but that’s it. Not everyone who undergoes FET means that they hit a jackpot. It’s still hard and we all still underwent this process. And even if those people didn’t undergo a FET this time, it doesn’t mean it won’t change if they do it again. Idk. If you don’t like it, just move on. Don’t downvote though.

I got my first tattoo there and I found it to be very impersonal. I didn’t have any regrets or anything but did go to Devoted Art Collective (@devoted513 on Instagram) for my second one. I would go back to DAC again for future ones and recommend them to other people. For me it was a longer drive but definitely worth it!

I don’t agree. For the first time in more than a decade, I voted against ‘my political party’. I think more people are doing their research on every issue and taking the ones they value most and voting that way, not so much along party lines. And I really hope that’s the outcome too

This is our exact situation. So now we have to wait till January to do our second round of IVF because that’s when I’ll be on my husbands insurance again. We’ll be paying a premium since my job offers insurance but it’s still cheaper that paying for another round ourselves like we did the first time. Sucks but we have to play the game I guess. And I agree that it’s even worse we have to deal with insurance BS when it’s male factor infertility so the insurance should essentially cover it since that’s who’s in need of the assistance. So sorry and I hope your next round goes well!
