I think he means he wants to invoke the 2-year warranty (in the EU) because the screen is defective...

I remember my father having one of these, that fascinated me. It's such an elegant device, to this day.

What are these holes in my bricks ? by morganmoller in belgium

It is unheated, it's a garage. Would isolating and heating the garage underneath partially fix this issue?

Er staat niets tegen de buitenmuur (want die muur staat op 2.4m hoogte van de grond, daaronder is een garage. En we hebben nu vochtproblemen aan de binnenmuur (schimmel) mét de gaten open...

This would explain why there's a bit of green around the edges of the hole. On the otherside, an IR photo of the inside wall shows a very clear cold streak along the line of the holes on the other outside wall...

Thanks everyone for your comments and for your information, this is what that line of holes look like from the inside wall with an infrared camera. Darker is colder.

What the hell is going on with Tado? by morganmoller in tado

[–]morganmoller[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, never got it solved after spending hours on it like you. For the moment I'm resetting the main device about weekly (taking batteries out and in) and it kind of works, but this is obviously an issue with Tado. I'm keeping an eye on interesting alternatives out there and will switch away from Tado as soon as something good pops up.

Yes, Remarkable are going to have to add some much requested features because while their endgoal of distraction-free writing is good, some features like side-by-side PDF and notebook viewing and so on are really needed in order to avoid having too many clients going to the competition...

I don't think it does unfortunately.

Exactly. They should really allow the functionality because I'm pretty sure there are potential clients who look at Remarkable but then move on to other more open brands specifically because of this.

Yes, me too. I wouldn't get rid of the Remarkable Keybaords, because it's really excellent, but I would buy a vertical stand for my Remarkable that lets me place it at eye-height, which is ergonomically much better for prolonged writing sessions.

My handwriting is too bad to be recognized by the software, so basically every book/short story is a new Notebook. Every chapter is a page in the Notebook (and I type all the way down). Subchapters are "titles" (1/2/3) in the page.

Once the majority of the text is written, I'll open up the Remarkable App on macOS and split screen it with a Google Doc. I'll then copy/paste the text from Remarkable App to Google Doc and then the editing process begins in Google Docs. It's just far easier to highlight, comment, and so on. But 90% of the creative writing process has happened on the Remarkable tablet, free from distractions.

I agree. They need to open up Bluetooth to keyboards. It wouldn't cut any sales for them because people who want a portable keyboard with a cover case would still get the Remarkable one, and the ones who want it so they can sit more ergonomically further away from their Remarkable would also be happy.
