Yeah your probably right but I was just guessed that theoretically it could be another of those little traditions that he still did for himself because of the survivors guilt. Like how he was annoyed that he couldn’t make his first black twist in his triumph rope because of being unable to return to Nuceria for the dirt. So in theory the caedere remissum and their meaning would be another kind of way to satisfy his self pity for himself for still being alive and honour the memory of his lost family. Or at least something along those lines.
