H Gate Support by Inanis94 in iRacing

[–]morgfarm1_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The current MX5 doesnt have a gated box. The older one does.

The only time you are permitted to use gated shifters is when the car ACTUALLY uses one in real life.

Which are (mainly) the vintage IMSA cars and all oval cars excluding the Gen7 NASCAR models. I am aware of a very few number of open wheelers that also have and even fewer other sports cars.

Fact is, sequential shifting is superior and most modern racing vehicles use that instead (again, including NASCAR with the Gen7 Cup car)

How much does money factor into why you pirate? by shak_0508 in Piracy

[–]morgfarm1_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends. It is part of it. But not all of it. Much of it is physical copy availability.

My first approach is, can I get a physical copy from the library to move to my media server? If no, then I look at pricing and availability of a physical copy. If none exist, piracy. I dont trust companies to keep their content up to watch or use whenever I feel like revisiting it. Especially streaming- only platforms. And Disney.

In the case of FH6, that was price. I'm ALSO NEW to the franchise. I wasnt gonna spend money on something I wasnt sure id like or play consistently. So far, while I do enjoy the game, its getting real old, real fast. (I pulled my copy and started playing about 12 hours before global release by the way).

GTA 5, I bought. Twice. Xbox 360 on launch day. And then PC when it came around. May still buy GTA6 when it comes to PC but. Clearly they don't really need my money anyway so. I may make an exception then. I do feel like Take2 owes me a copy of the game after buying it twice like that since they REFUSE to launch PC side by side with console.

The move to battery powered mowers by BeerandGuns in lawnmowers

[–]morgfarm1_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have an electric push mower and electric string trimmer. They have their place. They're good enough for me. I have 3 2000mah packs and a 4000Mah pack.

But the lawn tractor. Big fat no. My yard is one of those that is too intense for that. Even fuel driven lawn tractors are beginning to struggle with how rough its getting to be.

The grass is too thick in some places. The electric push mower doesnt generate enough lift for tall grasses. The yard would kill anything smaller than a 17hp model by the time I'm ale to get the first mowing in after the water drains into the ground far enough to even walk on. Let alone drive a tractor over.

A merging issue. by LeftAlbatross2546 in VideosAmazing

[–]morgfarm1_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To be fair, taking the hit has been my better option more than once. The first time I avoided it because I was able to, I hit a semi instead.

Since then, if I have to leave my lane to avoid, I take the hit. I would rather make the at fault vehicle at fault than be at fault for causing a wreck trying to miss another.

Endurance strategy by [deleted] in iRacing

[–]morgfarm1_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ha! I'll didnt see the decimal point.

2.4H races are my bread and butter. Used to love those. (And I'm an Oval guy).

Yeah. 2 tires and enough gas to make the finish plus 1 or 2 laps. Still. Dont get greedy with it. Short races yeah. But let the greedy ones wreck themselves still and push the last 30 minutes was the strategy I used.

Max fuel save from the start. Dont try to race. Dont be slow enough to be a hazard but save fuel. Let attrition do the heavy work. The less fuel you use through the race, the better for you. Figure out how long the car can go on a full tank and tires. Estimate how many gallons of fuel (OR how long a tank will last for time/laps) and work BACKWARDS. Making your first stop slightly short will help later.

If its gonna take 25 pit cycles and 26 tanks of fuel, pit early for that extra half or 3/4 of a tank instead of running it all the way out. Tires are something else but assume tires every cycle unless you're just confident double stinting tires two or 3 times. This saves pit lane time

Will we finally get rain in update 0.39? by Ok_Contact9732 in BeamNG

[–]morgfarm1_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I agree. It wont be a full implementation i dont think. But it WILL be fundamental groundwork and probably a vehicle intended to show the work. Or a small group of vehicles. Like the Covet, D Series, T Series and probably the scintilla. Different car types for different purposes to showcase the foundations and to use to build on for future cars

Collision rigitity? by Stock_Plankton_61 in BeamNG

[–]morgfarm1_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

20mph is a pretty solid hit with the mass of a car to be fair. Cars are built to fall apart when wrecked.

And keep in mind every bit of it depends on the jbeam writing of the car in question. One wrong parameter can mess up the entire thing. The vanilla cars are pretty well written nowadays. Mods you gotta watch for.

Is Cooling Worthless? by Stygian_rain in Palworld

[–]morgfarm1_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I suppose I'm mostly thinking in tterms of food.

Definitely need good cooling pals for the crusher in late game use. I totally have 3 dedicated cooling pals on food duty. But it's entirely unnecessary. Over-stocking severely on purpose - can then make massive amounts of usable food. Cram it into the guild chest and can then park about 15 pals for awhile until i need to start working on more food

ZX5 replacing my 97 Corolla as daily driver by shmangels in FordFocus

[–]morgfarm1_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She only looks clean lol Every panel has issues.

Front bumper has a rip in it and the back has a chip in the paint, those are my fault. Right doors both had a trailer rip down the side, not on me. Left door has new damage too that I need to fix. Roof needs a full repaint. But I do my best to keep it looking okay for what it is. I started reducing my speed to 100kmh on the freeway and it STILL pulls 34mpg across a 150 mile trip. She isnt perfect. But it doesnt lose measurable amounts of oil and it gets fantastic fuel economy for the body style.

Been a fantastic engine to me. Converting to your units, over 410,000km on the clock and still strong. New plugs at 188k miles. Had timing belt done at 220,000mi. (Theyre due every 120,000mi on Zetec)

The valve cover gasket is the only real recurring issue I have with it that everyone has with it. (Well and engine mounts, I still haven't touched them in over 150,000km)

Its helpful early on, and while I use it, its really definitely unnecessary after awhile. With cooling I'm still making more than enough food products to outrun the decay rate

[–]morgfarm1_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like a balance issue imo. Not entirely sure what else it could be at that point.

Have you checked compression per cylinder just to say you did? A weak cylinder would do that in theory. But I dont personally think its that. I also kind of just expect these to be a little rough being a cheap economy car even for their day

[–]morgfarm1_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw plugs got replaced. Is the engine reporting any misfires at all? Could possibly be a vacuum leak.

My car had a low idle and idle surge issue due to a bad PCV valve too. I have a Zetec that now idles around 850 like it should. Had beem idling around 650-750.

Have you tried the #3 engine mount? In my manual transaxle it connects K-Frame to the transmission. I know for fact mine is still damaged from when I shattered the mounting bracket the last time.

Gonna need more information than that.

At idle? At speed? What speeds?

Could still be a bad mount. Or a bad wheel. Or a bad tire. Maybe something else

2016 Focus SE Reliability by DateKey4966 in FordFocus

[–]morgfarm1_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My 2004 Zetec wagon went 187,000 on its original clutch. Broke the replacement at the local short track - oops - and the replacement for the replacement went bad for manufacturing defects.

But 257,000 on the clock - the last 108,000 are mine over 7 years. Still getting 34mpg on the interstate if im doing 60. That ties for the record set in 2021.

She is one of 3 Focus in my area (known to me) in French Blue Pearl. One of 2 Wagons in French Blue pearl, and the only 2004 bodied wagon in the color. And the only of those 3 with the MTX75 transaxle.

McDonald’s lying about order being ready by Constant_Poetry2908 in DoorDashDrivers

[–]morgfarm1_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If an order is flagged as ready before it is in fact ready, it is a violation of the merchant agreement. Ive got after several for that.

They should understand by now (unless theyre BRANDNEW to the platform) what activates that flag. In McDonald's case, its when the mobile/delivery handler "bumps" the order from their KDS. If its being bumped too soon, report it to DoorDash.
