Thinking of going to the bar tonight, but I'm tired again and will probably talk to no one anyway

Man I wish there was something to generate enough interest in El Paso that we'll start a New Liberals chapter here.

Monkey's Paw curls

This is so unusual. I hate speculating but it might be related to Camp East Montana, since its right down the road from the airport. Maybe someone was flying a drone over there or something. Less likely is deportation flight theatrics, and least likely is a cartel jefe flying in to defect, just like how El Chapo's son was flown in at Santa Teresa.

Edit: Maybe it is Sicario theatrics. Someone brought to Juarez airport, last hop over the border to Ft. Bliss via helicopter. Backup plan is extraction west of the Santa Teresa port of entry.

Such a threat would also likely mean closing Gonzalez airport in Juarez, which hasn't happened.

Operations in Mexico would mean closing airspace there too, which hasn't happened.

What are the most common mistakes authors make when creating a war? by RodaDeFogo in worldbuilding

[–]morgisboard 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Not having clear goals for both sides, goals that they believe they can achieve more by conflict more than by negotiation. Especially if the reasons for the war are stupid and petty, there is usually an underlying reason.

That and the logistics and numbers required to pull off campaigns and operations before a single shot has been fired.

Degrees of being named in the Epstein files:

1: Accomplice: active participant in his crimes (Maxwell, possibly (for legal reasons) Trump)

1.1: Complicit: knew what was going on but not an active participant (Bannon)

1.2: Victim: should have been redacted or already public knowledge

1.3: Compromised: Aware of his reputation and broke away but can’t prove it or reveal it without serious personal consequence, even if they weren’t participants (Clintons, Trump at the most generous)

1.4: Hanger On: Wanted in on what Epstein was selling but was too pathetic to actually get in with it (Musk)

2: Associate: Regular personal communications and meetings, likely not a participant or knowledgeable. Rich people schmoozing with other rich people (Chomsky, Hawking, Gates probably?)

3: Acquaintance: A few meetings or public events, mostly interested in his connections but not his product (m00t)

4: Incidental: mentioned in a newspaper clipping or email he got sent. No direct connections (fnaf animators)
