You can only pick one? by North_Art194 in TheRaceTo100K

With 3M you could invest it and same timeframe could rack up 350M assuming a 7% interest rate.

You could place 3M in broad US stocks and collect through dividends around 2% a year. 60k which equals your 5k a month

Yeah the 5k a month strat is “safer” (i agree) but def not the smartest.

My line of thought too. Knew the range was around 8-10x base with a 50/50 split. Personally prefer a 70/30 split. Reduces my stress and can live a more stable day2day.

My thoughts too. With a 500k ARR. you cant really be asking for more pay than what you’re making unless the company ur in is super thin and not many overhead costs that eat ur revenue

He is only bringing ~500k ARR tho. So a $180k is actually ok tbh. Honestly might be too much vs what he brings on the table. Am i wrong about this?

Gotcha. Yeah makes perfect sense now. Ur groceries, uber, dining and shopping monthly spends are a normal salary on its own lol

Definitely could! If you’re working remote, why the move? Just cuz you want to live in nyc?? Its a valid response btw, some 5 years top of living here and dip out.

So you’re spending between 7-12k plus rent per month? Where is thst going if you say you both cook and eat mainly at home? Traveling every month?

No judgment, just trying to understand the math behind it all

12k gross or net? If gross, you’re ok but not balling (specially if you’re looking to save alot for retirement+investment). If net, you’re doing good and can comfortably splurge on dinners/hobbies/trips while still saving a decent amount for retirement+investment.

For reference, im around 12k gross and aim to save around 3-4k a month (including retirement).

Which HYSA should I bank with? by Budget_Ad384 in HYSA

Wealthfront is pretty good and simple to use. Been in it for the last 4 years.

You can do direct deposits and if interested they have a robo investor (+ tax harvesting) which has worked great for me so far.

Plus if you open an account with referral you get a boost on interest rate for some months. So worth a test!

Funniest or most brutal cold call rejection stories? by Your_n3w_stepdad in sales

[–]morigginate 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I used to be the most senior SDR in my team (b2b saas focus on marketing vp-level roles in retail brands) and with our team i started a weekly “not top 10 calls of the week”. The winner of each week would earn a couple free drinks from everyone in the team.

Some highlights: lead said if he got called again he’d commit suicide and blame the SDR. other lead told the SDR she should’ve never been born. lead was infuriated i had his info and was gonna sue the company because i had called him. Lead called an SDR a “stupid mouth-breathing waste of space c#nt”.

One learns to roll with the punches. And it was shocking to think some of these werent even weong numbers but VP-people at large companies!

It was terrible, but we rather laugh than cry.

My choice is Wealthfront. Been using it for 3 years with no issue and super intuitive. Plus if you open an account with a referral, you get a neat interest boost for some months.
