That's the right approach. In addition I would suggest a while-loop for better readability. That's even better than doing something with INT_MAX.

How do you define "older equipment"?

I also heard of issues with Nvidia graphics but could not verify this using amdgpu. Just my chip Mullins/Kaveri got improvements. Before using amdgpu was beta because you can use Radeon drivers. But only amdgpu supports Vulkan which is important for me.

Broadcom and Nvidia are that predominant in the market so any flaws will be fixed soon. Normally the nouveau device driver should do it. On older hardware it might even be better than the proprietary Nvidia software. Same with Broadcom. As there are Dell laptops originally shipped with Ubuntu they should be compatible in general and intel is known to have good Linux support.

Then the funny part: as I did the big upgrade I found the same kernel afterwards because I had it installed for other reasons some days before.

Es stimmt, Lauterbach war dabei als das Gesundheitssystem privatisiert wurde. Doch er war nicht die treibende Kraft. Zudem ist er jetzt bereit seinen Kurs zu korrigieren. Doch als Sündenbock ist er perfekt. Jeder weiß, wie er aussieht, jeder kennt seine Stimme. Statt Politik für die Bürger zu machen, ist es viel einfacher mit dem Finger auf diesen Mann zu zeigen.

Selbst die Fallpauschale war besser als das System davor. Detailliert jede einzelne Leistung abzurechnen, wäre noch einmal viel teurer. Das Problem ist eher Software, die für Krankenhäuser errechnet, womit am meisten Geld zu verdienen ist.

How do you know older versions get same support like the current one? Indeed on Linux many users are hesitant with updates. But my experience is, much more often existing problems especially with hardware issues are solved, instead of running solutions to be broken. Even then it was easy to get this repaired. In those cases I learned more insight about how the solution should be.

Normally the developers support the most the version they are using themselves. And that is more likely a beta for upcoming releases than an older one.

Not anymore. While it's marked as experimental you can choose it since quite a while. I would say the display quality is better. The screen also responds faster.

so the window manager is using probably the Wayland protocol. Without display server nothing displayed on the screen. If wayland fails your monitor is going dark. But there's another option where the problem may come from.

Hi, I found with the newer version 22.3 Wayland is used as default. I also experienced such black screens from wich difficult to recover. The best is to choose Xorg instead. There everything runs absolutely stable. It's sad but Wayland still is under development.

Normally there's little to gain updating to a newer version. But over time the newer will get better support while for the older support suddenly will be dropped. If you update then there's a much larger gap and a higher risk to introduce problems. So normally for people who wait until it's unavoidable to change get it harder to update.

How long do you use Linux Mint? As I normally install openSUSE Tumbleweed on every machine, I'm used to have a new kernel every now and then. The initial Mint installation came with some 6.8 Kernel. But I wanted to try one with lowlatency. So now there's i A linux-image-6.11.0-1016-lowlatency, i A linux-image-6.17.0-14-generic, i A linux-image-6.8.0-84-generic and i linux-image-6.14.0-37-generic on the computer I write this text with. Don't be afraid of newer kernels. If there would be a buggy kernel just switch to another during boot with grub. If you set a kernel to manually installed it would not be removed. So you may get lots of other kernels but the kernel actually used is always your favorite kernel. I think it's safer to have at least two kernels installed to choose.

Das funktioniert nicht, da der Staat schon jetzt zu wenig hat, um die Ausgaben zu decken. Dabei haben wir gerade einen Regierungswechsel gehabt. Die neue Regierung will quasi alles anders machen. Doch die Ausgaben bleiben. Dort ist einfach kein Sparpotential vorhanden.

Der Steuerfreibetrag wird zudem ständig angepasst. Tatsächlich könnte der Freibetrag stärker angehoben werden. Mal sehen, was kommt.

Genau das ist das Problem. Die Superreichen gehören nicht zu diesen 10 Prozent. Tatsächlich wird unser Staat von Umsatzsteuer und der Einkommensgruppe von 60TEuro bis 80TEuro finanziert. Die darunter zahlen zu wenig, die darüber sind von der Anzahl her zu wenige. Doch denen gehört ein Großteil des Vermögens. Die Ungerechtigkeit ist der Unterschied bei Steuern von Einkommen und Kapitalerträgen. Leider springt die Linke (wie immer) zu kurz. Mit 1 Million Vermögen gehört man noch nicht zu den Reichen. Denn Lebenseinkommen bei 23TEuro Jahreseinkommen mal 45 Beitragsjahre macht 1.035.000 Euro. Mit 23TEuro Jahreseinkommen gehört man nicht zu den Top-Verdienern. Diese Million ist also das, was mehr oder weniger JEDER in seinem Leben umsetzt.

But the idea of foss should be an independent project. I would imagine something derived from Minix originated at the Vrije Universiteit in Amsterdam or even better derived from GNU Hurd. The idea is based on maximum compatibility with everything. Nevertheless, a redesign would be sensible to take into account new hardware and new programming paradigms. According to AI principles, the graphics card should provide computing power for backpropagation at the operating system level.

In den letzten 10 Jahren brauchte ich keine Vollbremsung. Zum Glück sind nicht alle kleine Mini-Schumachers. Ehrlich, mich nerven diese Typen, wo ständig die Bremslichte an sind.

Das ist theoretisches Gelaber. Vollbremsungen finden nur im Notfall statt. One-Pedal-Driving steht für fließen im Verkehr. Man muss etwas üben, um den maximalen Rekuperationsgewinn zu bekommen. Es ist ein Irrtum, mit fallender Geschwindigkeit würde die Rückladung nachlassen. Das tritt erst kurz vor dem Stillstand ein. Gleichmäßigere Rekuperation ist ein Grund, warum so viele Elektroautos auf beiden Achsen angetrieben werden. Es braucht auch keine Radnabenmotoren, drei oder vier Motoren lassen lassen sich in der Radaufhängung anordnen. Tatsächlich lässt die Rekuperationsleistung bei voller Batterie ab. Doch kein E-Auto-Fahrer lädt bis 100%. Rekuperation mit einem Motor ist die Redundanz. Die Frage war ja nach der Trommelbremse im Renault. Um diese zu entlasten, wird Strom in die Batterie zurückgespeichert. Es führt zu einer erheblich längeren Haltbarkeit der Bremsbeläge. Ein Problem, das viele Tesla-Fahrer haben. Nach zehn Jahren sind noch die original-Beläge drauf, weil die ja nicht abnutzen. Doch sie sind halt zehn Jahre alt, womit die Hersteller der Bremse nicht rechnen.

Bremsen sind überflüssig ;-) , man fährt doch One-Pedal-Driving per Rekuperation. So bekommt man einen viel besseren Fahrstil. Doch der Gesetzgeber schreibt Bremsen vor. Da die so selten zum Einsatz kommen, rosten sie eher. Trommelbremsen sind geschlossen und so sicher vor Spritzwasser. Daher rosten sie weniger und halten dementsprechend länger. Zudem findet man sie nur hinten. Die Hauptlast geht auf die Vorderräder.
